I need feminism because a male family member complemented a waitress on her "pretty" face. Later, in the car, I told him the statement was rude. He said she liked it. I said that first of all, it was her job to agree with customers, and secondly, that since women are assumed by males to be inherently sexual-- He flew into a rage. He told me to go fuck myself, that I did not know what I was talking about. That she liked it, and I'm just plugged into this feminism shit. He told me he "wasn't like that," that he's not going to change. He blamed me for missing the exit. After a while, he calmed down and pat me on the head.

Okay so today, my little sister (who tends to lack a bit in the self confidence area) came home from school, utterly upset that all of the boys in her class laughed at her because she plays "Dr. Brown" in a school play. They were laughing because "only boys can be doctors."
How the hell are we still so fucked up that the seven year old boys don't realize that girls can be doctors?
All of my doctors are women.

This is from the city of Lincoln UK. I don't know if you have been to Lincoln but it should pretty much be considered a town not a city.
When I was at university in my dorm I shared with 3 girls. One thought the lowest possible of me for being a virgin still at 18. The other two told me that their life dreams where to find a husband and get married after university and have lots of children. (Those two girls did just that).
The worst situation I can remember is when one of the girls sisters was beaten up by her boyfriend. I stood up and told everyone how disgusted I was about this. Not one person in the room stood by me. Every person said she either 'pushed his buttons' or 'deserved it'.
