- Homelander will be overprotective and really caring for his kiddo. He will try to spend all of his free time with you.

“Hello, buddy. I missed you so much! I know how many people love me, but… you know, the only one I really care about is you. Your love makes me truly happy”. *he sats with you in your little corner*

“Hey-hey, kiddo, it’s okay. I know you don’t like crowds, but I am with you, you are safe, trust me. We can have so much fun here. Look, there’s a stand with my plushies and figures, do you want to get one? Yes?” *he pauses* “You really want to have a Homelander plushie?” *you nodded* “I have a better idea… I will ask to make one just for you. We can think about phrases I will record, so you can always feel loved and protected by me. How’s that sound?” *you smiled*

“Yeah, guys, we need to think about finding a new member of The Seven and…” *he stopped when he spotted you behind the Starlight chair* “Excuse me” *he came up to you* “Hey, little one, what are you doing here?” *you made a sad face and pointed at your heart* “Aw, you missed me and decided to see me. Gee, you came here all by yourself? Like a big kiddo. I am so proud of you” *he grabbed your hand and you walked out to another room* “I am happy to see you, buddy. But I want to ask you to wait for me in this room next time, okay? I will ask our staff to make it more comfortable for you, add some toys and books. Will you do this for me? Yes? I appreciate it” *he kissed your forehead*

- He will be spoiling you. He is the real hero after all, he wants to spend his money with you and on you. You want this toy? You got it. You want to visit this place? You got it. You want to decorate your corner? Sure. You want to get this new game? Of course. He will make sure you have everything you want. And I mean literally everything.

“Look what I got you, my little one” *he holds a toy you wanted since being a child* “I showed that picture you send me yesterday, I remember that story where your parents didn’t get you what you wanted. And guess what? I got it for you. I got it for my precious kiddo!” *you giggled* “Go ahead and open it! Really?” *you grabbed his hand and pointed at your corner* “You want to do this with me? Of course, buddy”. *he is feeling seen because you always make him a part of your life*

“What’s wrong, sweetheart? Oh, no, your favourite book is ruined? I am sorry, buddy. It happens. Some things are really fragile, it’s okay. We can fix this. I will change to my casual outfit, and we can go and find it in that store you like. Yeah?” *you smiled and felt understood* “We can also get something new for you. And you will read it to me tonight. I love when you read these silly stories. I have never experienced that before”. *you thought that you will always read to your baba*

“Good morning, my little one. I have a surprise for you!” *you opened your eyes and looked around, somehow while you were sleeping your bedroom was getting a makeover, everything looked exactly like you wanted it to look like* “I know, I know. I remember all of these pictures and collages you made and saved, I showed it to some people and asked them… nicely to make it real for my favourite kiddo!” *you gasped* “You are welcome! Now we can share this place together. You have your own corner” *he paused* “You want me to explore my preferences and have a makeover for my part of this apartment? But… I have never think about it. Will you help me with that?”.

- Homelander will learn everything about you, he wants to be close to you and know you like no one else does. But he will be shocked that you want to know him too. It’s really hard for him to open up, but your baba will try. And also he will be trying so hard to deconstruct some of his harmful beliefs to make you feel safe and comfortable.

“And they were so mean to you at school just because you were different?” *he feels really angry and sad about it* “I am so sorry, kiddo. If I was there at that time… I would protect you. I would be by your side. I am a supe, but I can’t time travel… I wish I could, buddy. Maybe we could be different…” *you gently squeezed his hand* “I.. I am okay. Baba is okay. It’s just… I was lonely as a kid too. It’s nice to share vulnerable stuff. But I don’t like to be weak…” *you shook your head* “No? It’s not weak, it’s the opposite? Why?” *you hugged him* “I…” *Homelander couldn’t talk, he was suppressing his tears, yet he let his inner child to meet you for the first time*

“Of course, you can call me any pet name you want, kiddo. I don’t mind. I really like that you are trying to find new ones that suits me and your preferences. Can’t wait to hear something new” *he smiles* “What? How did I call my family members? Ummm…” *he pauses* “You know… baba didn’t really have a family. I don’t know who my mum or dad is. But I wish I could know more about them” *you feel so sad about it, you sat near him and put your head on his shoulder* “I am glad that I have you now. I can call you my family. Is that okay?” *you nodded* “I don’t want to think about my past, little one. I want to build our future instead. Feels more exciting”.

“Oh, wow, I didn’t know about it. Thank you for sharing this with me, sweetheart. You know…” *he pauses* “I was really ignorant about all of these things in the past. But I will try to be more curious and careful. Can you tell me more about your condition(s)? How can I be more supportive? Maybe we need to do something with this place? Or make an event where me and The Seven will raise money for disabled folks like you? Or?” *you smiled and nodded* “Okay. I will slow down, buddy”.

- Homelander really wants to be loved and cared for, he will try to hide it or suppress it. But when he realise that you do care, you truly love him, it will make him start a new life journey and discover these parts of himself that he was trying to erase or fix (or even cut it out ). It won’t be easy.

“What is that, little one? A gift?” *he looks at a little sparkly box with a cute bow you tried to make* “Ummm…what’s the occasion?” *you are looking at him and waiting for his reaction* “Okay. I will open it, kiddo. Wha…but how? How did you know I will like it? Even I didn’t know I will like it! I… thank you!” *you smiled* “I rarely get presents… I think I will get used to this really fast!” *you giggled*

“I am making a surprise for you, little one” *you are excited* “We have to meet outside this building at X o’clock. Will you do this for me? Yes? Good” *you came early, you didn’t want to be late and make your baba sad, you took your little sketchbook/toy/gadget to entertain yourself while waiting* “Hey, buddy, you are already here?” *you nodded* “I didn’t expect you this early!” *he waved at someone in the back* “So, let me put your thing away for a moment. Now close your eyes and don’t peek!” *you giggled, but followed these instructions* “Stand here. Yes. And now you can open your eyes!” *you opened your eyes and gasped - your baba organised a whole carnival just for you! There are clowns, funny ballon animals and flowers, lots of different colourful games, a booth with candy apples and gummies, a big bouncy castle and no other people, so you can enjoy this together! What a surprise!* “I know that you wanted to experience this since you were little, i tried to make it realistic, but added some detailes just for you, buddy. What do you think?” *you grabbed baba’s hand and pointed at candy apples* “You want to start with that? Okay. Let’s try these apples first. But then I want to try this ballon game, yeah?” *you were smiling and feeling so happy*

“She is having a god damn baby… why? Am I not enough for her? Why did she suddenly decide to be a mother… I just” *he heard you entering the room and sat on the bed* “Hey, kiddo. How was your day?” *you look around and just can feel the tension, you see wrecked things on the floor, you look at Homelander and see his face, he looks sad* “What? Am I okay? I am fine, kiddo. Oh, these… they fell” *he was lying, he didn’t even try to make it sound realistic* “Can you leave me alone for a while, kid? I need some space… I” *he didn’t finish his sentence, you sat and hugged him, hugged him so hard and so tight as you could, you put your head on his chest and closed your eyes* “No, kiddo… I” *you started humming a calming song* “I am not okay…” *you nodded* “Will you leave me or replace me too?” *you gasped and looked up, Homelander closed his face, so you won’t see his tears rolling down his cheeks* “I am so pathetic…don’t look at me” *you gently put your hands on his and pull them down, now you can see his pretty blue eyes full of tears, you can feel his pain and disappointment* “Why are you looking at me like that? What? You see me?” *he sighed* “I can’t even see myself clearly… kiddo” *you are sitting in silence together*

- You will notice that your baba has some anger issues. He doesn’t know how to cope with them in a nondestructive way. No one taught him how to do that (and some of these people even abused this). You will try your best to help him find new ways for dealing with these big feelings. And he will try his best to not to hurt your feelings too.

“Hey, little one. I think I need some alone time for…” *he paused* “What? You need to show me something, can we do this later, kiddo? No? Okay…fine. Show me” *you grabbed his hand and walked him to a new space in your apartment* “What is this room? The good room?” *Homelander zoned out for a moment* “What for?” *you explained to him that he can express his feelings here safely, you showed Homelander that he can splash paint on walls, he can destroy things with or without different tools, he can scream and cry, he can do whatever he wants* “And… you did this for me?” *you nodded* “How did you come up with this idea, buddy?” *you sighed, sometimes you need to be in this space too* “Well… I won’t judge you for that. Trust me. Do you want to splash red paint on these walls?”.

“You saw that interview, kiddo? What do you think?” *you closed your eyes* “Fake? Why do you think it was fake, little one?” *you pointed at his heart and eyes* “Wow… you do see me, huh” *you nodded* “And, yeah, I already told you about being an orphan. I don’t know why I tried to make it look real, why did I even say yes to that nonsense…” *he sat with you in your little corner* “This? Oh, this is my blanket. Someone took it from my personal stuff. Unacceptable” *you looked at that old thing* “I know it doesn’t look that fun, but… it was the only thing I had, the only thing that could bring me some comfort” *you looked down and imagined your baba being alone in a cold room holding this piece of a fabric* “What? Why do I need to change to my casual outfit, buddy? I don’t think i want to do this right now” *you insisted* “Okay, but what do you want to do?” *you grabbed a piece of paper and drew both of you going to one of your fav shops to get a new blanket for new memories where he won’t be alone anymore* “I…” *he paused and turned away for a moment, so you can’t see his tears* “I think it’s a good idea, kiddo”.

“Hey, buddy” *you gave him a note* “Oh, right, I forgot. Actually, I thought you weren’t serious about this therapy thing” *you asked for a little break, so you can talk with Homelander* “Is it really helpful for you?” *he paused and then started whispering for some reason* “Are they trying to hurt you or make you do something you don’t want to do, kiddo? No? Good” *he looked down and remembered about a whole team of mental health professionals making him worse and miserable on purpose, he didn’t want you to be in the same position as him, he was genuinely scared for you* “Just.., just let me know if they say or do something icky, okay?” *you nodded* “I won’t let them break you…”.

- Homelander will explore his likes and dislikes, he will try new things with you. You will encourage him every time he find out something new about himself.

“What do you think, buddy?” *Homelander finally got something he likes, something outside this patriotic theme that had no soul and nothing about him, he put it on a table, so you can see it while cuddling or watching TV; you smiled and asked if you can touch it and look at it closer, he nodded and just watched you enjoying this little trinket he found for himself for the first time in his life*

“That place you enjoy visiting, can we go there together? You will explain to me all of these stuff, why do you like it and everything” *you nodded* “They will be really pleased to see me as their visitor… what? You think I will feel more comfortable doing it as an incognito? Fine. I will change clothes. But someday we will go there and I won’t be wearing this boring casual outfit!”.

“What do I want to get from this life? Ummm… I am famous, so many people love me, I am the world greatest hero, kiddo! I have everything. Lots of them want to have what I have and…” *he paused when you asked him that question* “What do I want for myself and not Vought or The Seven or anyone else? I…” *he sighed* “You got me with this one. They made me feel like I have everything I wanted. But… do I?” *you put your hand on his chest and let him know that you two can figure this out too*

- Homelander will let you know and call him by his real name. You will be one of the few people who can do that without consequences…

“Hey, kiddo. How was your day? Did you miss your baba? Yeah?” *he smiled, you could even see his little fangs, so pretty* “You… you want to know my name? I am the Homelander, little one, you know my name!” *you shook your head* “Ugh… sorry, can I tell you about my name later, buddy?” *he sat on the couch and sighed* “No-no, it’s not you. It’s just… a complicated topic for baba”.

“Hello, little one. Can I talk with you?” *you put away your stuff and nodded* “Remember when you asked me about my name?” *you nodded* “My name is…” * he paused* “Gee, why is it so hard?” *you gently squeezed Homelander’s shoulder* “Thank you, kiddo. I know I can trust you. I am John” *you smiled and then hugged him* “Nice to meet you, buddy”.

“Yeah, kiddo, you called?” *you nodded and gave him a little drawing you made for him* “Oh, wow! That’s me saving kitties? I actually did that in real life, yeah. Your baba is a hero. So many glitters and stars. You even sighed it? For my dearest baba John…” *he froze for a moment* “I am okay. It’s just… I am not used to see or hear my real name. I stopped letting people call me John at some point. But you can call me that. Maybe I will feel more comfortable with it…” *you sat with Homelander on the couch* “What? You really like my name? I always thought they didn’t even try to find something good or special… and gave me a generic one” *you shook your head* “If my precious kiddo likes my name, maybe, I can do this too. One day”.

Summary. You are having a bad day and need extra help and support. Your new friend, a dangerous machine with no feelings, is trying to be helpful… even though it’s not in his programming.

“Baba Robot?” You asked quietly. “I don’t feel so good today”. You curled up in your bed. You were too exhausted to get up. You wanted to be taken care of. Your mechanical companion came up to you.

“I will check your stats, little creature”. T-1000 said with his stoic voice, yet he tried to imitate softness of the human touch by patting your back. He quickly analysed your mental and physical state. “Stats are checked. Conclusion: flare up and emotional distress”.

“I want Baba”. You said while trying to reach out to him. “Can you stay with me?”.

T-1000 looked at you and sat down on the bed. “Affirmative”. He tucked the pillow and your blanket. “Rest”. His voice was still emotionless, yet you could feel that he is trying to be soft.

“I don’t like feeling like this…”. You sighed and looked at him. “Would you tell me about your mission while I am trying to fall asleep?”.

“It’s classified”. His tone was rougher this time. “And you don’t need this data for your recovery, little creature. Rest”.

“Ugh… you are having secrets! I wanna know, Baba Robot!”. You made a grumpy face hoping that it will make him talk. But it’s didn’t.

“You already know more than you should. You already changed me in a way I haven’t even calculated”. He put his hand on your chest and tried to pat your head too. “My programming didn’t even consider dealing with these emotions and things. I am here for the destruction. Not creation. Yet I do believe I have to take care of you and keep you safe”.

“So, you like me, Baba Robot?”. You giggled and tried to get up.

“I don’t reciprocate emotionally as a human being”. His blank face is still emotionless.

“You don’t recip…recipro? What?”. You look confused.

“Reciprocate”. He added. “I can’t feel emotions or share them with anyone. I am not a human”.

“Oh…”. You sighed and closed your eyes trying to hide your tears.

His face expressions changed slightly for a few seconds. It almost looked like he was concerned. Your reaction made him face with things he couldn’t even verbalise or analyse. “I didn’t want to hurt you. I was made as a logical machine”. T-1000 grabbed your hand and rubbed it with his thumb. “I do know that I don’t want you to be unhappy”.

You gasped as he was trying to imitate human touch and care. He is a machine. He is full of secrets. But he was the only one who was there for you. He didn’t mind your tears. He didn’t mind your grumpy attitude. He didn’t mind that you have limitations. Every time you met an obstacle he was thinking or already helping you to get through it. He didn’t question your value. He didn’t question the way you cope with the problems. He was just there.

“I wish the people who made you could be more kind to you, Baba Robot”. You placed your hand on his thigh.

“Illogical. Yet… appreciated”. T-1000 looked at you with a subtle smile. It was the best he could express in that moment. “Rest now, little creature. I will be here while you are sleeping”.

“You promise?”. You asked while slowly falling asleep.

“You have my word”.

He was sitting right next to you all night and keeping you safe.

It’s already past your bedtime, but you can’t start your night time routine.

“Little one, why are you still here? Did you brush your teeth already?”

Your frustration is building up. “No, baba, I didn’t. I just can’t make myself to start my routine”.

“I am sorry, little one. Do you need help?”.

“I guess… but I don’t know how you can help me!”.

“There-there”. Guy gently patted your back. “We will figure it out, kiddo”.

“Okay…”. You felt a little bit better.

“Hmmm… let’s choose your outfit. Do you want to put your pyjamas?”. Guy took some clothes and showed them to you.

“No!”.

“Okay, little one”. Guy looked around and saw another thing you can wear. “What about my oversized T-shirt? Do you want to sleep in baba’s t-shirt?”.

You finally smiled. “Yes! I wanna wear baba’s clothes!”. You felt really excited. You like wearing Guy’s clothes.

“T-shirt it is! Here, little one”. He put his T-shirt on the bed and patted your head. “Put it on and we can continue with your routine”. He walked out and gave you some space, so you can change your clothes in peace.

“I am done! What’s next?”.

“Good job, kiddo!” Guy smiled and put a sticker on your arm. It was a little shiny star ⭐.

“Oh, sparkly!”.

“Let’s take care of ourselves next. Shall we?” Guy’s soft voice always soothe you. He gently grabbed your hand, and you followed him to the bathroom.

“Oh, I don’t like to brush my teeth! It’s so boring! And the toothpaste…”. You made a silly face. “Tastes weird. Too minty. Bleh!”.

“I got you, kiddo. I got this fruity toothpaste for you!”

“A fruity one?” You raised an eyebrow. “I have never tried this one before”.

“Yeah-yeah, I know, kiddo, you don’t like trying new things. But I will do it with you. We can do it slowly”. He opened a little cabinet and got his toothbrush out. “What do you think?”

“Ummm…okay. I will give it a try!” You looked at your caregiver then at a toothpaste. “Promise me that we can stop if I won’t like it!”

“I promise, little one”. Guy made a pinky promise.

“Okay. I believe you”. You grabbed your toothbrush and started to brush your teeth slowly analysing this new taste. “It’s kinda yummy. Better than mint!”.

He chuckled. “I am glad to know, kiddo. I like this fruity toothpaste too”. Guy kept brushing his teeth.

“Oh, baba, I feel sleepy now…”. You felt tired, you finished brushing your teeth and looked at Guy.

“Good job, sleepyhead. Let’s take you to your bed”. He wiped your face with a fluffy towel and then slowly walked you to the bedroom. Guy turned on your nightlight and checked if there were any monsters under your bed. “All clear, kiddo. You can rest now”.

You hopped in the bed. It felt so comfy. “Can you stay with me until I fall asleep?”.

“Of course, little one. I will protect you and your peace”. Guy was sitting on a chair and looking at you with care and respect. He didn’t leave you alone until you fall asleep. He kissed your forehead and said that he loves you.

Then a member of his gang came to ask him if he can help with bad guys. While Guy was helping them and saving the world — the only thing he could think of was you.
