-a request was made so i decided i would upload. its a short angsty fic! demus!-
If I had known the consequences of my actions beforehand. I know I wouldn’t have done half the stuff I did. for example, making Virgil leave us for the lights.
But right now, that wasn’t my regret. Having risen in the dark sides area to see a teary-eyed Remus staring at me… I knew he had been told by roman. I could feel every muscle in my body freeze. I wouldn’t let it happen again. But I knew there was no stopping what I knew was about to happen. “if you’re leaving, I suggest going now,” I muttered as I hung my head low, “it will make it easier for both of us.”
I sighed, trying to stop myself from breaking down in front of Remus. I shifted myself slightly backwards. Not able to look at Remus. I didn’t even know if he had left.
Then I felt it. two arms wrapped around me and pulled me close. I felt my breath hitch. “for gods sake Janus. I’m not leaving you because you said something my brother needed to hear,” he grumbled as he rested his chin on my head.
A wave of relief swept over me. I rested my head on his chest. my hat tilting back as I did so, getting a chuckle from Remus. “why were you crying?” I muttered into his shirt. “i… I thought that you were joining the lights, I thought that you were leaving me,” he chuckled sadly, “I thought you didn’t care and were leaving me like…” he choked out.
“hey I care about you,” I said as I pulled out of the hug, looking at him directly in his eyes. “you…care about me?” he said, “of all people. You care about me?”
I chuckled at his response. “I’d call it an understatement really,” I smiled.
Our eyes connected for a mere second before I pulled Remus down and kissed his lips firmly. I could feel him melt into the sudden action.
As we parted, I cupped Remus’s cheek, I looked into his green orbs. “I will never leave you as long as I’m around, okay?” “you can bet your fine ass I won leave you either,” he smirked.

I slumped against the space where the door should have been. It had been so long… what day was it? there was nothing left in my chest. only an unending emptiness that grew every day. a stone wall gained a brick every day as my heart grew colder and colder.
The deep green door hadn’t been there in such a long time, yet I could remember every detail of the inside and out.
I could remember the feel of his lips on mine… they way he would talk so passionately about everything. The way his eyes shined when he learned something new… and now he was gone.
He promised he wouldn’t leave me here. Guess I’m not the only liar after all…
