Oh jeez. GOT? Girls on top? The name sounds so... fake empowering. First of all, 'girls' just doesn't cut it for me. And 'on top'? they know what they are doing 🤭 its embarrassing. These women deserve so much better than a generic p*rn title. The lyrics are straight out of a 14 year old's diary, who doesn't understand boys yet. I wouldnt be angry, but it pisses me of SO MUCH because I know what they're capable of. They are all so talented and then the company spends money to create... this-🌨
I don't have a problem with the name as such, but I get what you mean if it's from an age perspective, like 3 out of 7 members are over 30. But I think "girls" isn't too bad, I know plenty of women aged 40+ that still refer to themselves and their friends as "girls', talk about "girls night out" etc. "Girls" is also extremely common in girl group names, SNSD itself has it in the name ("sonyeo" literally meaning "girl" and the group's name being Girls' Generation), there's Brave Girls, Cosmic Girls, Brown Eyed Girls (who are all 35+ years old now), Girls' Day etc etc.
The lyrics are garbage, definitely. I think SM overdid for song composition and under-worked the lyrics. There is some clever word play in the lyrics but not much, not as much as the usual modern kpop song. SM definitely spent their money on cinematography, like they do with æspa's videos.
