So there is these enemies that show up in Yoshi's Island called Sluggys. These creature stood out to me as being very similar to Shy Guys.

So I have a simple hypothesis/headcanon, and that behind a Shy Guy's mask is actually a Sluggy. With this masks being very similar to well their faces. This is a simply hypothesis primarily based on the visual similarities between these 2 enemies. Written by Eris the Lorekeeper
