You literally sent this ask in January 2024, I'm so sorry about who I am as a person!

there's a decade between trespasser and veilguard. some years they see each other every few months, when dorian can take time off

but there's a spot where they go the better part of 3 years not seeing each other

the venatori kidnapping/rescue is pretty early days, maybe in the 1st year or 2 post trespasser

the sending crystals are a lifeline. they talk nearly every day

dorian gets dagna to put the sending crystals inside the dragon teeth necklace for a 2-in-1 deal!

the bull does come into tevinter sometimes. despite everything, minrathos is changing - it's still dangeous for qunari but there's more and more vashoth prescence every year

the chargers continue to do off jobs for the inquisition/inquisitor

the chargers stay a mid-sixed merc company (i headcanon them swelling to about 50 during inquisition as people join at skyhold). more mages join, more tal/vashoth.

bull gets to spend more time with/in ex-qun communities and people. there comes a day when being tal-vashoth is neutral. there comes a day when it's a source of pride.

dorian only lets him stay in minrathos for a few days at a time though for fear of bull being targetted

meeting the bull humanises dorian so much to the shadow dragons - knowing dorian is fighting for something so personal and not just ideals really does endear him to those still wary

bull stays a little longer when they're in the qarinus estate, it being removed from the machinations of the capital a little

dorian takes any legit opportunity to get out of tevinter on magisterium duty

they spend a summer travelling rivain together, ostensibly because dorian has embassadorial duties

they get married at some point. not recognised in tevinter of course, but all their friends are there

the bull has everything in order to pass the chargers to krem's leadership at a moments notice. the moment dorian says he can stay, he's ready

i think post-veilguard the bull FINALLY forces the issue and goes ahead and passes his leadership of the mercs to krem, and tells dorian he's staying. dorian finally relents. whats the point of being a radical archon if he can't have his husband there what's the point

becomes archon dorian's bodyguard

i'm still thinking about the years of archon/politicing tbh!

sometime after that though, dorian truly retires. the border villa becomes a permanent home, rather than a when-we-can place.

dorian remains tangentally involved in tevinter politics, but he's laid enough groundwork and radical change for others to carry on cutting out the rot

24. Deep kisses where they have their hands tangled in each other’s hair to pull them closer.

"Do you treat all your Vints like this?" Fenris says, baring his teeth as the Iron Bull's huge hand grips in his hair. Painful, a controlling grip, but not likely to pull it out at the root. A considered, measured approach, near-professional almost. The Bull only hums, using his grip to expose the line of Fenris' throat to biting kisses.

"He doesn't pull Krem's hair," Pavus says lightly, from where he sits as audience on a convienient flat rock in the little forest clearing. Feigning mild curiosity, while he sits with a kneel crossed over the other to hide his straining cock.

"He might be up for it, if you want to watch that too, kadan."

Fenris takes the opportunity of the Iron Bull going practically doe-eyed at Pavus to grab him by a horn, twist his legs around and with only a little bit of help from the power of his brands, flip him and pin him. Granted, the pinning is much a token gesture, without his full power. He could take Pavus in a straight fight, but the Iron Bull is different thing all together.

"Eyes on me, qunari," he says, grabbing the Iron Bull's jaw. "Stop the audience participation, your amatus is here to bear witness."

"Oh, I'm certainly witnessing," Dorian says.

The Iron Bull grins up at him, laces his fingers back through Fenris' hair, a little softer this time.

"We're chatty," he says, not quite apologetically.

"I see that."

Fenris lets the Iron Bull pull him down, but makes sure he's the one setting the pace of the next kiss.

Dorian stands in the mouth of the tent, the warmth and quiet from within to his front, the chill and revelry to his back. The Bull sits within, methodically undoing his leg brace.

“Your absence has been noted,” Dorian says. He stands on the threshold, a decision to be made for the night to come – an inconsequential thing in the grand scheme of this grand adventure, but a decision none the less.

His choice is made when the Bull looks to him, smile crooked and inviting. Dorian steps forward and lets the tent flap close heavily behind him.

“The boys will be fine without me,” the Bull says, “more or less.”

Dorian hums thoughtfully, bending to unbuckle each of his boots so he can slip of of them. The Bull goes back to his brace, but Dorian would be a fool to think he’s not still being watched. He makes a show of it, of course – undoing the clasps and buckles of his outfit with purpose.

“Of course, this has nothing to do with them telling ghost stories, hm?”

The Bull pauses – and it’s a heavy thing, because it is so deliberate, that the Bull lets him see the reaction to this, that he doesn’t hide it. Hissrad, he thinks. A thing more and more untrue between them.

“Not feeling it,” the Bull says, as he leans back against the blankets and pillows strewn about. He does not say it’s been a month since we walked in the Fade. He does not say I did not see spiders. He does not say madness, or temptation.

“Perhaps I can inspire you to feel something else,” Dorian says, as he comes to straddle the Bull, taking his place in his lap. The Bull spreads his huge hands across his back, easing him down to kiss him.

“Now that I’m into, big guy.”

I started this before I dropped out fandom years ago, so I've just been picking at it here and there since I've been back, waiting for the bolt of inspiration.

It was actually an idea I had to explore Dorian's relationship with his mother, but I never got to fleshing out that part yet so it's what I've returned to have to decide how I want it to go.
