Astarion is my favorite character for many reasons, but one is that I relate so heavily with his story of abuse, resilience and survival. Iâve never felt more seen then when I played his story line. To me, Astarion shows that change is possible with the right support.
He has become my comfort character and because of him Iâve started drawing again and Iâve started drawing men. I may not be the best artist, and I may not be as amazing as other artists I see but my style is just as unique. Maybe itâs more cartoony, but thereâs nothing wrong with that.
There are things about this piece that could stand to be changed, and I could probably put more work into the shading, but for now Iâm done. My husband keeps telling me if I ever start to feel stressed about a piece to just move onto the next one.
Anyway, I hope you like it and thank you to those who support my artwork. It really means a lot to me to see my art being liked and reblogged. It makes me feel a little less insecure, so again thank you.
I'm back with the Your City Gave Me Asthma love, it's currently 1am and I'm sat vibing to Jubilee Line. Was talking to my friend about how I want to go to London (as someone who lives in the UK, this isn't a big deal for me), and sit on the tube late at night, or walk around the streets of London in the rain at 2am, or lie awake on a roof top listening to this album, to try and get even the smallest, the tiniest insight into how Wilbur felt whilst writing these songs. And that's completely normal, I mean, these songs, this album, saved my life. Isn't it funny how music can do that? It's definitely gonna be something I do when I go to London on my own, an experience I'm craving. I want tears to come out of it, you know? I want to cry about it, let out my emotions, I wanna feel something when I listen to it in the place it was written. And I think that's a perfectly normal thing to feel.

Could you do some prompts inspired by Drink About by Seeb? Thank you!
Dialogue Prompts
1) "I can't do this anymore, you're drunk all the time and it's getting sad. If you can't stop I don't see myself staying in this relationship."2) "You've got to stop thinking about them, they're bad for you. This break up is a good thing." "If it's so good why don't I feel good about this?"3) "There's broken glass all over your apartment, how do you even walk around in this place?" "I don't. I just lay here." 4) "You can't just drink the day away thinking about your ex, that's what sad people do and we're not sad, okay? We're gonna get you up, get you dressed, and you're going to go to work because you cannot be late again."5) "I know it's late and you're probably out with your new /friend/ but I just wanna talk to you. Please call me back the second you hear this."6) "Who are you texting?" "My ex." "Don't fucking text them! Give me that, what did you send them?!" "Nothing." "You put 'please come back, I'll do anything' Baby, that's not good, that's desperate. That's what they want. They want you to beg for them and you're better than that." 7) "They're the best thing that's ever happened to me, I just want them back." "First of all, I'm the best thing that's ever happened to you because I'm your best fucking friend. Second of all, they treat you like shit which you don't deserve. And look, I don't like being too blunt because I know it hurts your feelings but you don't love them, you just love them because they give you attention and you didn't have a lot of that growing up so you just think it's love because you've never experienced how people should be treated apart from me an maybe like the barista at the coffee shop."8) "How much have you drank tonight?" "I don't remember." "You didn't get into the medicine cabinet, did you?" "No." "You promise? If I go check it everything'll be there?" "I promise."9) "I don't like leave you alone when you're like this." "Come lay with me." "You're just going to try to cuddle with me and feel me up." "Maybe just a little bit, please stay with me?" "Fine."10) "I miss you, so much." "You're drunk." "You always said I'm honest when I'm drunk." "I know you are." "Just come back, please? I can't do this without you. No. I-I can do this without but I don't want to. I don't want you around like I want everyone else around. I've never needed anyone in my life but I need you. You're the only person I've ever needed."
Regular Prompts
1) A and B had a nasty break up and A's turned to alcohol to forget. B's moved on but A can't seem to, drunk texting and drunk voicemails. (Bonus if B comes back because they miss them and help them clean up their act OR B moves on completely and C is the supportive best friend who's highkey glad that B is gone because they were bad for A. Person A sees how good C is to them and they realize they've been spending too much time thinking about the wrong person.)2) A is an alcoholic who can't control themselves when drunk and they're always spilling their friends secrets. No one really cares until they start airing out other peoples dirty laundry. Talking about who's cheating on who, who's been talking shit about who, who's in love with who. But everyone is just pissed off and avoids A who's just doing it all to get rid of friends while they slip further into a depression. The only person who seems to notice them pushing people away is B.3) A catches B cheating on them in their apartment and when they kick B out they've started drinking to forget it. B spends the whole time desperately trying to earn their forgiveness and doing everything to prove that it'll never happen again and that it was just a mistake.4) A is someone who's been sober for a long time but when B's memories of their relationship are erased due to an accident A picks up drinking again when they see them going back to an ex who happily takes them back. (Bonus if the memories come back in pieces and B doesn't remember them until something really bad happens.)5) A and B are on again off again until A tells B they don't want them back and B says "Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow then." and when A insists they aren't coming back they force them self to stay away from B even though they want nothing more than to go back. B doesn't like that A is gone and thinks they've really moved on while A just wants B to come after them for once.

Prompt: Heâs flying. Or is he?
Summary: Maddie gives a lesson on ghost powers to Danny's class with Lancer, and Danny is highly intrigued by Gravity Nullification.
Warning: slightly depressing, bullying, analysis of the human condition.

âAlright class, today we have a presenter-â Lancer gets cut off by slightly enthusiastic cheering, while Danny simply stares out the window to his left. Lancer, coughing to recapture the students' attention âas I was saying, due to all the recent ghost attacks the school board has decided to have a local ghost expert-â. Danny jerks his head over to Lancer muttering âoh noâ, as Lancer continues. â-Ms. Fenton.â Lancer walks over to the door opening it to let Maddie in. âPlease welcome Ms. Fenton and try to behave like the young adults I know you are.â Lancer sighs as he sits in his corner chair. Maddie stands confidently at the front of the class and gives a little wave to Danny. Who visibly shrinks in his seat, as a couple of jocks snicker at him.
âHello class! Iâm sure you all know me as Dannyâs mom but today Iâm here as a professional. So address me as Ms. Fenton not Dannyâs mom, pleaseâ. Maddie finishes her intro with a soft smile. Walking over to the whiteboard she quickly picks up a green marker and starts to write as she speaks. âSo it was decided that you all would get educated on how ghost do what ghost do, meaning their powers. Rather than how to fight them.â Turning around for a second to shrug. âThe principal decided teaching teens how to use ecto-weapons was a bad idea, I say pah! To that but rules are rules.â. Turning back to the board she finishes writing out a vertical list of all the main, well-known ghost powers.
Ecto-Blasts
Ecto-shields
Invisibility
Intangibility
Body manipulation
Over-shadowing
Duplication
Gravity nullification
âMiss?â Paulina asks with her hand raised, lowing it when Maddie looks to her. âWhatâs that last one?â Paulina finishes her question with a few agreeing nods. Maddie smiles, glad to see theyâre paying attention; unlike her son. Unbeknownst to her, Danny is actually paying attention. Just with his head in his arms, listening both to her and sneakily watching out the window through his arms for any ghosts. âWell, gravity nullification is probably better known by you asâ air-quoting âflyingâ end air-quoting â but thatâs really the wrong word for itâ. Star, looking highly confused just asks âwhat do you mean?â. âYou see ghosts arenât made out of the same things as you and I, theyâre just shells wrapped over ectoplasm.â Maddie doesnât notice the way Danny faintly shivers at her words and how he grimaces. âAnd ectoplasm reacts differently to the environment compared to any other substance. Functionally, it is always in a state of weightlessness. Ghosts actually have to force solidity into their ectoplasm to even be affected by gravity at all.â. Kwan shoots his hand up. âYes?â. âWhat about that metal one, weâve all seen him falling and crashing around? Wouldnât he not be able to do that if heâs weightless?â. Maddie chuckles lightly but quickly scolds Dannyâs still slouched down form before answering the question. âDanny dear, please sit up straight. Youâll ruin your back like that.â Maddie scolding is sweet as the class snickers at him more. Danny jolts right up, face red but keeps a hand in front of his mouth, just in case his ghost sense goes off. âAnyways, the metal ghost is an anomaly as itâs actually a small blob-like ghost wearing a suit of armour. The armour, like any armour, isnât inherently weightless. Meaning the ghost has to extend its natural weightlessness to the suit!â. Maddie is quite pleased with herself hearing the âoooooââs and âahhhhhââs from most the students. Danny, meanwhile, is wondering just how the hell his mom actually knows about that. Sure, he found out about Skulkers real form right away but he doubts his mom found out the same way he did. And even though heâs not on good terms with Skulker, Danny canât help but frown at him being called an âitâ.
Unsurprisingly, it doesnât take long for Paulina to ask about Phantom, much to Dannyâs dismay and the rest of the classes joy. Maddie shakes her head at the clear display of fondness for the ghostly âheroâ but answers honestly anyway. âPhantom as a whole is an anomaly itself, very little about that one makes sense and finding out anything about it has proven to be, more or less, impossible. However, considering Phantomâs lack of any suit or exoskeleton, itâs safe to say itâs as inherently weightless as any normal ghost.â. Danny is kinda shocked by the genuine response and it does get him to ponder about his âflyingâ ability. Muttering into his hand quietly, âwell itâs not like I can really feel wind strongly flying by, and the wind resistance doesnât change regardless of how fast I go.â. Tapping his chin, âand thinking about it yeah, it feels like being suspended in water...but more floaty. Huh, I used to notice that a lot actuallyâ. Shrugging, Danny smirks âthe perks of getting used to things I guessâ. Danny is pulled out of his mutterings by Mr. Lancer âDaniel, of all people I would expect you to be paying attentionâ causing Danny to jolt and look around, earning him more snickers. Meanwhile, Maddie just sighs and shakes her head. âAs I said, all ectoplasm has this quality due to its composition. The particles itâs made out of are so densely compact, that it actually has its own gravitational force. That force is only strong enough to negate the earths pull, however, so you donât have to worry about being pulled into an average ghostâ Maddie adds with a chuckle.
Paulina, spring her hand up again, âbut what if the ghost is carrying you? Would it make them easier to hold you?â Blushing slightly âI wouldnât want Phantom to struggle carrying meâ. Danny physically groans as his mom frowns, âyou shouldnât be that close to any ghost, especially not Phantom. Regardless of the ghosts act, it is evil and it does not care; just like all other ghosts.â. This earns her almost unanimous glares from the students so Maddie just sighs. âBut yes, being that close to a ghost would allow for its ectoplasms gravitational pull to have a slight effect on you, instantly making you lighter. But most ghost will almost instantly extend their gravity nullification to anything they try to carry on instinct. So youâd effectively be weightless yourself.â. Dash grins wide âso thatâs why Phantom can lift so much...itâs not strength but some weird gravity thing. Cool man, I would kill for that on the fieldâ. Someone chuckles next to him âyouâd have to be killed for itâ which earns a couple laughs, even one from Danny; whoâs ever fond of dark humour. Sighing Maddie corrects Dash, ânot quite true, a ghost carrying something would have to exert adequate strength to extend enough gravity nullification to the item in question to render it weightless.â. Danny mulls over this in his head, things were definitely not as heavy or as hard to pick as Phantom; even from the very beginning. Now that both his halves were physically stronger, due to the constant exercise and fighting he did, most things were freakishly light. Even in Fenton form. Muttering again, âthough I guess my ectoplasm is a constant in me so I guess I constantly have at least some of this gravity nullification active at all times. Huh, for once Iâm learning something that actually helps meâ. Noticing Lancerâs glare he makes a point of following his mom with his eyes, instead of staring into space. As Dash pipes up again âso Phantom really is built then? Awesome! I knew he wasnât punnyâ. Maddie looks dumbfounded by this, muttering under her breath; though Danny can hear due to enhanced hearing. âI canât believe how fooled that ectoplasmic scum has all the children. Iâll have to have an honest talk with Jasmine and Danny about their own fondness of him. At least Danny has a healthy fear of ghosts, even if it is a little overboard.â. Danny internally groans, dreading supper, as Maddie continues addressing the class. âPunny isnât really possible with ghosts, Mr. Baxter, all of them have dangerous powers and most have unique abilities as well.â Earning a couple raised eyebrows from the students. One band geek asks âbut what about that box guy? He doesnât seem capable of doing much of anythingâ at this most the class laughs, including Danny. Maddie smiles loosely âthat one has some sort of power that lets it get into our world whenever it pleases, which is a threat in and of itself. If it wasnât for how lacking it is in all other areas, it would be an absolute nightmareâ. Danny canât help but laugh hard at this. The idea of The Box Ghost, even after the Pandoraâs Box incident, being a genuine threat is so absurd. Danny earns a few odd looks, including from his mom, over his wheezing laughter. Someone in the back mutters âisnât Fenton, like, terrified of ghosts?â His friend next to him shrugging âI guess even that scaredy cat doesnât fear the Box ghost.â. The first boy mutters again âThatâs kinda sad for the Box ghost actually.â. âMoving on,â Maddie says over the two boys, still shooting Danny curious looks. âIs there any other main powers youâd like me to talk about first before I go down the list?â. Kwan sticks his hand up at the prompt, âuh yeah, whatâs intangibility mean?â. Maddie chuckles sweetly, âwhy itâs the ability to go through solid objects without damaging them. Both intangibility and invisibility have relatively the same explanation, so I do bothâ. Turning back to the board Maddie cross off gravity nullification. âBasically, ectoplasm is capable of vibrating at specific frequencies and speeds that nothing else really can. This is excluding ecto-raineum which is why ghost hunters make their equipment and weapons out of it.â. Maddie smirks to herself, âthis vibration allows for ghosts to move their ectoplasm at such a rate that they surpass that of all the materials around and/or light itself. Rendering them capable of going through almost anything and blinking out of visible range.â. Maddie paces around the front of the room as she continues, âSome theorize that many animals who can see wider ranges of light can always see ghosts, but this is still hotly contested.â. Danny muttered to himself while she was speaking, âyeah and itâs a hell of a lot harder than it looks.â. Star shoots her hand up asking, âIâve seen ghost turn people invisible and what not, does that hurt the person? Vibrating the persons' cells or whatever like that?â. At that question Danny makes a mildly horrified face, whispering âI never even thought about that, oh god Iâm going to have to ask Sam and Tucker about that.â. âThankfully, weâre certain it doesnât hurt, if it did Iâm sure many more people in Amity would complain about it; considering how commonly that happens hereâ. The students nod, all but Danny accepting this answer at face value. Dannyâs learned not to fully trust all of his parents âscienceâ, after learning so much for himself. Heâd rather verify something that could potentially be inadvertently hurting people, for himself.
âMoving on, Iâll talk about ecto-blasts and ecto-shields like I did for the previous two abilities. Both are nothing more than a ghost expelling ectoplasm outside of their manifested form, in a controlled fashion.â. âSo kind of like spitting?â Dash jumps in. Maddie, turning to him, replies âThatâs about as close as a human can get, yes. Ectoplasm isnât something ghost can just randomly expel out of their bodyâs however they please. Ectoplasm is their bones, organs, skin, blood and consciousness. A ghost could destroy itself with over expulsion.â. Paulina makes a disgusted face and pulls her hands up to her chest âso ghost are like? Throwing around their own blood?!â. Maddie grimaces, âin a way, yes, but itâs so vastly different from actual blood that itâs really nothing alike.â. Paulina still looking grossed out, âWell, Phantoms the only one whose ecto-whatever isnât nasty thenâ. Danny can tell his mom is restraining herself from going off on a tirade about ghosts. He finds himself rather impressed by her rare show of not going overboard. âYes well, ectoplasm should always be handled as carefully as possible, you absolutely should not touch it and you absolutely should avoid it; as best you can anyways.â At this Lancer gives a curt nod of agreement. âThe last thing any of us want is you, mostly bright, young students getting hurt or worse.â Lancer sighs darkly. While Danny just chuckles to himself âIâve already done the âworseâ option, twice over so...little late for the warning.â Smirking, he canât help but feel glad for not getting the warning though. He wouldnât trade his halflife for anything else, though he could do with a break sometime.
âNow duplication is one of the trickier things a ghost can pull. Not a lot of ghost can do it and itâs very difficult for them, but it also makes catching a ghost impossible if you donât get every duplicate. The body manipulation is similar, being a more basic form of duplication. However, Phantom seems to be one of the few ghosts that actually utilizes body manipulation both offensively and defensively.â At this Paulina grins proudly. Dannyâs not sure whether to be creeped out or pleased about her grin. âOn one hand she loves me, on the other sheâs completely obsessedâ Danny sighs. âYeah, I think I saw him turn his stomach into a freaking donut onceâ Kwan chuckles. Maddie nods enthusiastically âyes that would be an example of body manipulation, duplication is just body manipulation taken to the extreme. How ghosts manage to control two separate bodies is a bit of a mystery but the general consensus is that since their ectoplasm is their consciousness itâs no different to them than controlling two hands at once.â. Danny has to cover his eyes to keep from boring holes into his momâs face with his glare. âThere is nothing fucking easy about duplication...though Iâd have no clue how to explain having 6 heads to a class.â. âI had like 10 bodies once! It was a nightmare, even if it made playing pass more fun.â Kwan shivers slightly as Maddie roles her eyes. âThe stories kids spinâ.
âLastly, over-shadowing; easily the most unpleasant and evil power ghosts have. Iâm sure you already know but itâs the power to take over a real persons body and control it. Over-shadowing is near impossible to detect without special equipment but ghosts canât maintain it forever.â. One of the students in the back scoffs âIâm pretty sure all of us have had some experience with that trick.â. âYes and itâs the only way for a human body to have ghost powers. While possessing a human body ghosts can still use gravity nullification, invisibility and intangibility. Though it is much harder to do.â. Â Danny canât help but smirk as he watches his mom talk so self-assured, when a halfa lives in the same house, eats the same food, and talks to her every day. âThereâs something hilariously ironic about a scientist living with the very thing that disproves their theories.â. Maddie walks over to the board and draws a red person shaped outline and then a green one just over top. Tapping the drawing with the pen, âthis is basically how over-shadowing works. Ghosts layer their own ectoplasm overall a persons internals, including the brain. Allowing it to use its ectoplasm to control all the nerves and access every sense of the body. This is also why no one really remembers what happened. The ectoplasm coats over the brain muting all the synapses and their communication.â. Dash just groans âI didnât think thereâd be so much brain stuff with ghosts.â. Danny, chuckling âwhat? Your head hurts?â. Dash turns and pelts Danny with a pencil, the only thing he bothered to bring with him to class. âMr. Baxter! What did I say about behaving!â Lancer crosses his arms staring at the boy, releasing a disappointed sigh as Dash just glares and sits back down. Meanwhile, Maddie has her hands on her hips, clearly not impressed to see even a hint of the bullying sheâs been suspecting Dannyâs been getting all his injuries from. âBaxter, the only time going on the offence against someone or thing is when that thing is a ghost. People, unlike ghosts, are not inherently out to hurt you. So control your anger and Danny, donât antagonize him.â. Danny grumbles âitâs called a joke, not my fault he canât handle being the jokeâ, at the mild scolding. âGhosts are the things that lash out violently at the slightest displeasure, you kids arenât a bunch of ectoplasmic scum.â Danny sighs âand here comes the anti-ghost rant...plus last I checked Iâve still got my healthy amount of ectoplasm so at least one of us here is indeed ghostly.â. In his mutterings, he completely misses the rest of his moms' rant, though he doesnât miss noting all the unimpressed teenage faces. Even Mr. Lancer seems put off. Maddie, brushing some imaginary dirt of her thighs, âAnyways, I figured to wrap this up, weâd have a little discussion about which of these powers youâre most impressed by and how youâd use them for good; instead of doing what ghosts do.â Looking around at the suddenly very interested students, Maddie nods contently. âWeâll break up into groups of 4 based on seating and youâll debate amongst yourselves which powerâs best.â. Then giving the floor to Mr. Lancer, âI expect written personal reports from each of you, this will count as your creative writing assignment. Worth 20% of your grade, lates will NOT be accepted.â Lancer finishes as he hands out the assignment sheets, all the while glaring at Danny. Danny just rolls his eyes, muttering under breath âhmm an assignment about something I constantly think about and have years of experience with...â. It takes Danny all of two seconds to write down gravity nullification on his sheet, only slightly intending to actually fill the rest out later.
Maddie and Lancer set about pushing everyone into their groups. Danny ends up with Dash, Star and a random band geek. âWhatâs up Fentit! If you say anything other than that gravity thing youâll be eating my toenail clippings for a week.â Danny groans sarcastically âoH wOw WhAt A cOiNcIdEnCe, ThAtâS jUsT wHaT i WaS tHiNkInG.â. Star giggles a little while the band geek just stares in awe and mild horror at Dannyâs guts. Dash glares at Danny but turns to then glare at the geek who quickly chirps, âgravitynullifcationisbestforsureâ. Star sighs, âI was going to say body manipulation but that seems pointless nowâ. Danny raises an eyebrow at her, genuinely curious, âwhy that one, it clearly doesnât have many uses?â. Star rolls her eyes, âfor perfect skin of course. Who cares about floating or flying or whatever. When you can make your skin, hair, eyes and everything else look exactly how you want it to.â. Danny sighing, not quite sure what he expected, replies anyways âpretty sure it doesnât work quite like that and you wouldnât be able to keep it up forever. Nothing compares to being up in the skyâ. Dash rolls his eyes âspace nerd much, try caring about something real. You can bench so much with that power. Itâs like super strength but better. Gosh, Phantom is so lucky.â Danny smirks, âWell yeah, the strength boost is great but that still doesnât beat flying. Normal people can be super strong but they canât fly.â. The geek jumps in, correcting Danny âyour mom says itâs not really flying though, just like weightless floating. I think Iâd vomitâ his face, as if to prove a point, looks like just thinking about it will make him vomit. âAstronauts are weightless most of the time and they donât constantly vomit.â. Danny rebuttals while painting a hand at the geek. âYeah well they train for that, I certainly have no trainingâ the geek rubs his stomach. Just as Dash punches him in the arm âthatâs pretty obvious wimp.â. Star just rolls her eyes at the boyâs behaviour.
Pretty soon after, Lancer calls everything to a halt and has one person from each group say their piece. Over-shadowing, invisibility and gravity nullification; are the only powers picked by any of the groups. Teams for over-shadowing would use them for politic influence.
Teams for invisibility would use it to make their own lives easier.
Teams for gravity nullification are split on using strength to help people and using floating to become a high-class travel system. Listening to all the reasons people give out, Danny canât help but be glad that heâs the one who actually wound up with the powers. âSweet Plasmius, things like this really smack me in the face with how much more serious and mature Iâve become; compared to everyone else.â. Shaking his head âliterally none of them even considered being just like Phantom. Sure, some talked about helping but not to the same degree at all.â. The last group leader manages to wrap things up just before the end of day dismissal bell rings.
Danny stands, looking out the window, as the rest of his classmates file out; he can see Lancer approaching from the corner of his right eye. âFenton, I expect to see that assignment tomorrow...â. Noticing Lancerâs slightly less collected than usual demeanour, â but thatâs not really whatâs on your mind, is it?â. Lancer sighs âyouâre always more intelligent than your work says and you pay way too much attention to everything. But yes, your mothers, uh, beliefs on ghosts are, honestly, quite harsh and even cruel.â Lancer leans his hips against the windowsill, âIâve had many personal encounters with, including with Phantom, ghosts. I canât say I agree with her view of them being pure evil. Even more so in the case of Phantom. While I do not envy him, itâs clear to me heâs a good soul.â Lancer looks down at Danny in time to notice his soft smile. âBoth me and my sister agree with you Lancer, but my parents would never hear of it. Theyâre scientist yes, but their theories matter more than the proof.â. Lancer shakes his head at this, âthatâs not how it should be even if they know many things, speaking of work. Iâd like to know your opinion now, since I genuinely doubt Iâll actually see that paper. Iâm hopeful but not a fool.â Chuckling, Dannyâs smile widens âgravity nullification, how could it be anything else. Though I do consider it flight even if itâs really not, which is kind of neat to know nowâ. Lancer raises an eyebrow at him, âyou mean to tell me you never learned this from your parents before? I expected that theyâd have taught you this before I even met you.â. Danny laughs at Lancer's shock, âI kind of tune all that out, normally their talk about ghost is completely hateful, today was a rare day where she tired to keep her biases out of the conversation. Pleasant surprise really.â. Lancer shakes his head frowning, âWell, Iâm glad you donât carry that hate yourself. So what draws you so much to gravity nullification?â. Smiling, Danny replies in earnest âthe sky is a home, a comfy place where you could just be free. You could sail over oceans, hover over a neon-lit fast food sign eating take out, or you could just go upâ. Danny motions his hand upward and looks to the clouds, out the window âspace was always my dream and with that power I could just go up and up and up. Get to see the stars like I always wanted; drift amongst Ursa Major, Aquila, and Eridanus. Thereâs a whole lot up there and to be able to just go and see it all on a whim? Nothing could compare.â. Lancer stares in awe at his most problematic student, unsure of how to respond. Eventually though, âyou have wonderful dreams Daniel, though I can hear in your voice that you think youâll never get see them through. The teacher in me wants to say work hard and you will, but Iâve started to realize that for some unknown reason youâre blocked from giving me your best. That hurts to see but I understand. Â Life doesnât always work and a teenager being mature enough to be so introspective and watchful; tells me that something has indeed not worked out.â. Putting a hand on Danny, Lancer asks him one last question, âI could tell you were displeased with the other students reasons and uses for their selected power. Why is that?â. Smirking Danny looks at Lancer square in the face, this boldness takes Lancer off guard a bit. âBecause of Phantom, no one, not a single person; aimed to do what he does. Self-sacrifice, leadership, heroism.....none of them aimed for that. They all wanted looks, or political gain, or money, or power for powers sake.â Chuckling, Danny continues âPhantomâs like hope here and none of them wanted to be that hope.â. Lancer is once again shocked but he smiles anyways âeven I never thought of that Daniel, that says a lot of good things about you I believe.â. Patting Danny on the back, âgo home and sleep, and I look forward to seeing your paper tomorrowâ. Danny nods and walks to head out but Lancer just manages to catch Danny mutter âwho knows maybe one day hope will fly away and sleep tooâ. Danny, chuckling heartily to himself âor I guess ânullify gravity or whateverâ.
Lancer sits down heavily in his chair, just managing to catch a glimpse of Phantom flying by. âI wonder if Phantom even understands what he possesses and how heâs viewed?â Shaking his head he stares at Dannyâs seat. âThat kids mind is like a supernova shackled by whatever chains it is that keeps him grounded. In all honesty, Iâm starting to just want to see him happy and content rather than grandly successful. And as a teacher, I find myself unsure what to do with that.â
Up in the sky, Danny flyâs around lazily in circles. âWell today sure was something and I now have a new look and appreciation for âgravity nullificationâ. Shaking his head with his hands behind his back, facing the sky; he slowly continues to defy earths gravitational pull and floats home.
