MLK/FBI, which screened at the St. Louis International Film Festival this month, is a new documentary that focuses on the FBI's surveillance of Martin Luther King, Jr., which started from rumors of Communist allies and shifted to an active attempt to undermine King's movement. It will be released in theaters and on demand on January 15. Read my review here.

Now streaming for free at #SLIFF and on Peacock TV, the documentary THE SIT-IN tells the little-known story of one week in 1968 when activist/performer Harry Belafonte hosted The Tonight Show and Black culture took over late night TV. Read my review.

I watched the documentary ON BROADWAY, which traces the history of Broadway from its near-extinction at the start of the 1970s to now, at the virtual St. Louis International Film Festival this weekend. It's a superficial but entertaining crash course in Broadway history; read my review here.
