#sleepy update

Let’s get to the point. I recently got laid off from my job of 3 (almost 4) years. Things are definitely weird now bc of it, but I guess the important thing is that I’m okay. 

My mom’s looking after me and we’re working together to find me another job. It’ll most likely be a struggle to find someplace that’s hiring, but I won’t let that stop me.

Until then, I’m gonna have quite a bit of free time. Besides searching for jobs, I’d really like to take advantage of this situation and be more active as an artist. Y’know, practice my butt off, use and make new social media platforms, and interact with any of my casual fans out there. I know I have a few of them at least lol.

Idk if I’ve ever mentioned this before but my dream job is to do anything involving illustration, preferably as a concept artist. Freelance, webcomics, even children’s books, I’d be fine with anything like that too. Just so long as drawing is involved in some way, I think I’ll be relatively happy. It’s pretty much the one thing I’m good at, and I enjoy it a lot too. So it just makes sense for me to pursue an art related career.

Look guys I’ll be real here, advertising and selling myself as an artist is something that fucking terrifies me. It always has. I’ve never in my life felt good enough and, surprise surprise, I still don’t feel good enough. But that’s my problem isn’t it? I’m never gonna feel ready or worthy. And the longer I take the less opportunities I’m gonna have.

If I really want to grow into an amazing artist that gets tons of work, I need to get out of my comfort zone. I’m not sure how it’ll work out, I don’t even know the right first steps to take. But fuk it, I’m gonna try anyway. I think I’ve waited long enough and being unemployed is the perfect motivation to get off my ass.

So I guess to start things off I’m gonna plug my brand new twitter handle that I made literally last night. It’s Chris RozaryBeads @SleeprSketch 

There’s not much there ofc, but I do plan to do a lot with it. Posting wips and projects, sharing cool art from other skilled ppl, and just being way more vocal and active in general. I’m not leaving tumblr or anything, but I may be spending more time on twitter for now since it’s still super new to me.

It’s a bit awkward cuz I’ve been gone for almost a year, which is one hell of a hiatus for sure. Um...yeah I mean, there’s no real complicated reason behind it actually, I just took a long break from tumblr. That’s really the short of it.

It was my birthday last month, and it crossed my mind to “come back” here. You know when it’s your birthday and you feel like your 20′s are fleeting right before your eyes so you catch this nagging urge to just DO something, ANYTHING that even slightly resembles moving forward in your life...? It was one of those moments for me :/

And besides it felt like as good a time as any to hop back on here, lord knows I owe an update to the few of you that maybe wondered where the fuck I disappeared to. I know it’s not many of you (I mean, realistically it’s probably none of you tbh), but on the off chance someone was waiting for any word from me about my status or the status of my blog, I just want to apologize. You didn’t deserve that and I hope you forgive me.

But yeah, the tl;dr version of it is just that I backed away from tumblr for a bit and now through a pleasantly fragrant mixture of burning creative passion and shameful soul-crushing guilt...I’m gonna make an honest effort to try and post regularly again.

Basically, I’ll draw when I can and upload it when I can. Before I used to really freak out about being consistent and punctual and whatvr. But since I’m now working full time at my poopy-but-still-tolerable job, I don’t really have the sweet luxury of worrying about that anymore. Yay...I guess? :(

So that’s the deal more or less, I’ll just be posting the art as they come. No real schedule and no real standards really. Whether it’s a doodle, an unfinished wip, or a fully completed piece, I’ll post it on here anyway cuz why the hell not right? Shit ain’t that serious man, lol.

Speaking of dogs, I’ve set this to go up while I’m at my “lovely” day job, so I have no clue rn if anyone’s even seen my earlier post yet. But hey man, if you have seen it and you at least thought to yourself “wow, what a fucking loser”, then I appreciate you :)

Would yall be okay with just a wip so I can go to the next moon, or should I finish and then post it even later? Either way, this one may be lackluster compared to previous and I apologize.

Again I'm so sorry for the delays, executive disfunction has got me wrecked, but I WILL get back to coloring when I can.
