Koselig is when you catch the sun on your cheeks, can’t stop but smile and express your excitement when trying to ride faster that your friend. That is what you get when you go to sledge. The best time for this is a weekday morning, when normal people work or study and Korketrekken sledge track is almost empty. Then there is low chance to hit anyone and no need to slow down in order to come over kids. But let’s see from the very beginning.
First, you need to arrange your friends – the bigger the better. Do not forget to take some hot tea or coffee and prepare a “matpakke”, because you probably will need a good refill in the midday. The journey starts by travelling to Frognesetteren t-bane station. That is a good chance to enjoy amazing views on snowy hills over the window and get excited before the adventure.
Aaaand let’s get it started. If you don’t have your own sledges, you can always borrow them nearby.
And you start riding, first slowly but later get faster and faster. The snow and the sun make your ride extremely light and bright, but you can always wear cool glasses and observe all the beauty around. When you try to turn, you use your legs and lots of snow falls into your face. Be careful, it doesn’t taste very well :) It’s much better to taste delicious waffles in the end of the track. But do not stay too long, because the train back uphill can leave without you. So take your sledges in one hand and a waffle into another and run after your friend to get into the train.
After 4-5 rides the time for lunch comes. There is a cozy restaurant nearby with delicious cocoa. That fits perfectly with homemade sandwiches, pancakes or any other food, which was in your matpakke.
Despite you are already a bit tired, you should wait until the sunset. You shouldn’t miss that precious experience.
And the last, but not the least! Take lots of pictures in order to save the emotions. Because they are priceless :)
