Never been prouder to be a daughter of Sri Lanka than at this very moment! Following the conceding of this election by President Mahinda Rajapaksa - #SriLanka ushers in a new era! The people have spoken - oh and how clear their voices are. Let us display the dignity and caliber that we have and have showed thus far in ensuring a peaceful election. Respect to the President who left Temple Trees, made what must have been the most difficult call of his life to Mr. Sirisena and lets not forget - freed us from terrorism. All of you who went out and voted (especially for the first time) I hope you now see and understand how important engaging in the democratic process is, your vote MATTERS. This is OUR nation and it is up to US to do what we can. Never underestimate the power of the underdog - social media, the youth vote, the minority vote (all despite being discredited) have been KEY deciders in this election. The new world order has dawned! We - as having said time and time again - the people of this nation know what is best for US and when we want a change, we WILL usher it in.
