Have you read Empty Ocean (Hermitcraft)?
I have read it
I haven't read it, but I plan to now
I haven't read it, but I'm in the fandom
I haven't read it, but I'm not in the fandom
Summary:
Tango is an astronaut who has crash-landed on a distant moon far from home. His ship is destroyed, his crew is gone, and he has no way out of here alive. All he has is gritty determination, a healthy amount of sarcasm, and a radio that can only reach one person who isn’t any more prepared to deal with this crisis than he is. Impulse is an engineer who’s been getting into radio tech lately on the urging of his best friend and personal annoyance, Skizz. He can’t seem to get his radio to work, however—at least, not until it starts picking up a distress signal from the other side of the galaxy. Honestly, he probably shouldn’t be getting involved in this, considering he has no idea what he’s doing, but it sounds like this guy really needs help. And who is Impulse to turn down someone in need of help?

BloodyMary ideas
So I've had quite a few ideas for Project Hail Mary/Iron Lung crossovers, even though I've never watched either movie, nor have I read the book (though i did watch Mark play Iron Lung, obviously). From what I've read, the fandom wouldn't be too upset about my butchering (lmao) the narrative or the characterizations, so that makes it a little easier for me to want to actually post the ideas I had
one of the ideas that i had was a classic trope: humans getting abducted to be used as science experiments or for pit fighting. I was planning on actually writing this one from Simon's POV cause I thought it would be easier for me specifically, but also a much more fun experience for the reader. Recently abducted Grace being shoved against a slightly mutated Simon who has been fighting in the Pits for a while, watching and waiting to figure out how to get them both out of there while Simon undergoes experiment after experiment to make him more deadly, more feral, in the pursuit of "How far can you change a human before theyre no longer human? Until they no longer recognize one of their own?"
Second also common trope is actually one inspired by Empty Oceans by SlashMagpie, where Grace is fiddling with the radio and comes across the radio transmission for Simon's ship, and in the process of trying to figure out how on Earth it's possible, where Simon is, what is happening- only at the end is when they both realize that Grace cannot get to Simon, and there is no rescue coming for him. It's DEVESTATING but such an incredible premise that I wanna see it with these two
the third one is actually inspired by this post by @grumpymedic, but instead of both Grace and Simon being raptors and Rocky being a scientist, it's a much darker story where Stratt and other scientists are conducting experiments about creating dinos a la Jurassic Park, but all of the animals they produce end up being essentially brain dead - so some whackjob proposes somehow superimposing human consciousness into dinosaurs instead as a sort of template. Grace wakes up in a body he doesnt recognize, with instincts he can't predict, with senses he has no experience with, and has to somehow figure out what happened, struggling with a brain that wasn't built for a human mind.
I actually got a fourth idea from another post by @jonktheripper about a Subnautica crossover, but instead of making it a proper combination of the universes, I was gonna throw both Simon (in the place of Marguerit) and Grace (in the place of Riley) into the deep (and shallow) end of the ocean. As a treat. Except, of course, they eventually meet and Simon is a mutated fish thing in the lava zone. Maybe as the sea dragon leviathan? Or perhaps one of the lizards? Though as a Reaper would make more sense, considering they can exist in both the lava and shallow zones.... Hm Hm Hm, things to ponder.
Part 1 of 'I got way to invested in making Vampires sonas for my friends and decided to bite off more than I could chew by trying to turn the scenes swimming around in my head into a comic'. XD.
Part 1 (you are here) | Part 2 (Maybe)...
