#slapshot

While the whole thing is pretty adorable, the best part of Ryan Leonard's classroom visit is him visibly and sheepishly accepting that the kids are much more excited about meeting Slapshot.

Sirius watched in utter disbelief as Remus’s fingers curled around his. Remus was so warm that it made him shiver. 

“Remus?” he croaked. Remus cocked his head and settled back in to watch the film, shuffling closer to Sirius. 

A few minutes later, Remus began stroking his thumb across Sirius’s knuckles. Sirius lasted another three minutes until he grabbed the remote and paused the film. “Remus?!” He whined. He needed to know what this all meant. 

“Have I read the signs wrong?” he asked, furrowing his brow. Sirius wanted to reach over and smooth the worried creases with his fingertips. Sirius free fingers twitched, and Remus clocked it. He began to release Sirius’s hand, and Sirius panicked. 

“NO!!!” He shouted far too loudly for the situation. They stared at each other with wide ‘deer in the headlights’ eyes and then burst into laughter. “Shhh,” Sirius gasped between bouts of laughter. “Alphard and Henry will come in if they think we’re having too much fun,”

“Why?” Remus asked sobering a bit. 

“Because they have massive FOMO and will not want to miss out, especially in their own house.” The door banged open, and Sirius groaned, thinking it was too late. Remus suddenly lurched towards him, landing awkwardly against his chest with a massive, furry monster on his back, using him as leverage to get to Sirius’s face and licking it mercilessly. “Padfoot, you twat, get off!” Sirius shoved helplessly at the hairy beast as poor Remus was crushed even harder against him. 

Finally, he managed to shift the overexcited puppy just enough that he flopped onto the sofa and freed Remus. 

“Looks like your uncles’ dog suffers from the same affliction.” He grinned, his cheeks tinged red, probably from lack of oxygen. 

Padfoot took up most of the sofa, so Remus was forced to squeeze into the tiny bit of space the hellhound had left between himself and Sirius. Sirius leaned back into the corner and opened his arms. He chewed his bottom lip nervously. Was this too much? Was he being an utter idiot?

Remus’s face lit up, and he quickly snuggled against Sirius’s chest before Padfoot thought Sirius wanted him. They pulled the cosy blankets up around them and pressed play again. 

When the film finished, they got to their feet, stretched their stiff bodies and wandered off hand in hand to go find Alphard and Henry. 

“It’s utterly ridiculous!” Henry said loudly. “How anyone thought they could get away with this is beyond me! He could sue them for this and win, easily!” 

“What’s going on?” Sirius asked as they walked into Henry’s office. He’d never heard the man sound so outraged before. 

“I’ve gone through everything Remus has given me, and Remus, I’m astounded you didn’t argue any of these terms.” Henry shook his head as he brought up the contract, now coloured like a rainbow, the number of times he had highlighted something. 

“Greyback made me sign it, and by the time I got to read it through, it was too late to do anything about it.” Sirius squeezed his hand and watched as Henry’s eyes flicked down to where their hands met. He looked back up at Sirius, his eyes twinkling and a quivering smile on his lips as he held back tears. 

Alphard walked into the room, moving to Henry’s side, a questioning look on his face. Henry just pointed at the pair, and Alphard literally jumped for joy. 

“YES!!!” He shouted, grabbing both Sirius and Remus into his arms and hugging them tightly. “I’m so proud of you, my darling boy,” he whispered in Sirius’s ear, but he was sure Remus had heard him too. Sirius hugged his uncle tighter, holding out his hand towards Henry and laughing when Henry bashed into them in his haste to get in on the hug. It was wonderful, until the sound of thundering paws hurtling towards them alerted them that Padfoot had woken up. 

“Padfoot! No!!!” They all yelled at the same time as the Padfoot came barrelling in and launched himself at them, hitting like a furry slapshot. They fell in a laughing heap on the floor. 

Sirius turned his head and came face to face with Remus. 

“I like your family,” he said, smiling sweetly. “The dog needs training, though; my ribs are killing me.” Sirius didn’t know what came over him, but somehow his lips were on Remus’s, and he was kissing him on the floor of his uncle's study with said uncle, his other uncle and their unruly puppy on top of him and Sirius wouldn’t have had their first kiss any other way.
