Personal Favorites (or songs I could listen to on repeat):

YAYAYA - What a fun song, I love it. Fourth song I listened to off of this one, but first one I was fully in to. You can tell it’s a pre-debut song, because of the lyrics, but it’s great.

District 9 - First of all, I love that this was their debut song. What a great message to officially start out the gate with. Second, they all go so hard on this song, and I love it. Specifically, I love Lee Know and then Hyunjin in the beginning, but they all do so good.

Chronosaurus - OH WOW. I was a bit thrown off at first, because, for me at least, this one sounds kind of different to some of their usual stuff. But I love it, so much. This is a great one. A bit repetitive at this point, to say they all sound amazing, but they do. But that part with Bang Chan and then Han, the tunnel part? SO GOOD.

Songs that aren’t quite at the top for me, but are still really amazing!

Beware - This song is amazing. I was not expecting that, considering I don’t think I’ve seen this one recommended as much, but it’s really good. The only reason, the only single reason, it’s on the middle list is for the similar reason that Hellevator is so low, and it’s that the song wasn’t really meant for me, lmao. Again, not an issue with the song itself, it doesn’t have to be a song for me, of course. But still, a fantastic song. WAIT. almost forgot to say Jisung sounds amazing in this one and also, love me some Changbin/Hyunjin rapping back to back.

Mirror - Another song referencing being young and stuff, so again, not my thing. But, still a great song. I love how relatable the boys are in these songs, even if they aren’t my favorite and I’m a little too old to fully enjoy them. And of course, they sound amazing.

Songs that probably won’t get a lot of play on my playlist, but are still really good, because these boys are so talented!

Hellevator - Okay, hear me out. This song is still good. The fact that it was originally created pre-debut and was this good? Amazing. But, while I can vibe with some of the meaning behind it, it’s not really a song meant for me. It’s more of a youthful song, if that makes sense. Like, I can acknowledge that it’s a great song, but the references to school means I can’t fully relate (which is 100% fine, not everyone has to relate to every song). Since these list are geared more towards my personal taste and not whether something is technically good or not, this is where this one sits. (Also, not sure if I’ll do this for all of them, but I listened to both versions and the difference in Hyunjin’s rapping is so good. He’s improved so much. Honestly, they all have.) (Wait, I have more to say. I’m so...in love with the fact they came out with a song about mental health almost immediately. They hadn’t even debuted yet. That’s so...it’s so good)

Spread My Wings - So, I’m seeing a theme, lmao. It’s not a bad theme, I am aware that the boys were very young (I know they are still young, but nonetheless, they were a lot younger when they debuted.) So, I understand that a lot of the songs from their debut are probably going to be geared more towards a much younger demographic. I still think they are fantastic, if I was younger, I would be all over these songs, but I’m not. So, while I can respect the hard work, vocals, etc, these aren’t really songs that are going to get a lot of play on my playlist. (Also, this is the third song I listened to. I know that the songs are all over the place because of the ranking, but I’m actually listening to them roughly in the order they are on the album.)

Grow Up - I know I keep talking about it, but this is another song geared towards another demographic. A fantastic song, just not a song for me. But I just have to say, it’s mentioned above, but I love the messages they were sending right out the gate. About being who you are, growing, being okay to make mistakes, finding a place to go to be yourself. Like, I love that. Had the debuted when I was younger, these songs would have been so good for me, so it’s cool to see that they helped other people out there who really needed to hear stuff like this.
