The ruined lands had such an odd, calm dead feeling to them, he couldn’t hear birds, only the winds, the clouds making hums, vines touching down the earth- VINES??

vines, He could but faintly see them, like transparent black lighting strikes that touched the ground in slow motion...or like some sort of gigantic squid of thousands of appendages, this was an oddity.

No, no, this was horrible! How was he supposed to carry Lucy home and make sure she was safe? How was he supposed to defend her? How was he going to do anything like this?! The hounds would eat him!

Not only that, but he was disgusting! Absolutely horrid! Looking in puddles and seeing this grotesque bird reflection made him jump back.

    “This is very important- birds aren’t cute! You can’t fall for that! They’ll lure you in, the devils! Run for your life, I can feel myself turning with this little birdbrain!”

Boodie honks loudly at the poke, and the wolf! 

His tether to this world had to be around here somewhere; he was sure of it, because every now and then he could almost feel himself becoming more corporeal the closer he was to the silk scarf. But with every gust of the winter wind the cloth would blow away in a different direction and cause the spectre to fade away ever so slightly. Ordinarily he kept a closer eye on her scarf, but even when at full strength he could only physically interact with objects so much, and the constant wind added a degree of difficulty to keeping track of it. He’d learned the hard way he could “survive” without it, but he didn’t feel like feeling “nauseous”, going colorblind, and not having a defined “body” again anytime soon.
