🤍 𝙴𝚟𝚎 𝚆𝚑𝚒𝚝𝚎 / 𝙴𝚟𝚎 𝙱𝚕𝚊𝚌𝚔 🖤 #moodboard for skunk-streaked sweeties. Someone once tried to argue with me that artificial grey hair wasn't a thing before the recent #grannyhair trend... I will forever die on the hill that it absolutely was. In 1982, #skunkpunk icons 𝗦𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘅𝘀𝗶𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘅 and 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗩𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻 both had white streaks in their otherwise black hair. Along with lesser known children of the London punk, goth, and eventually new wave scene. While previous #skunkstreak icons certainly existed decades earlier, such as the 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗶𝗻, 𝗖𝗿𝘂𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗗𝗲𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲, and 𝗟𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿.. the argument could be made that these people were wearing wigs for a fictional role and not dying their hair for personal expression of fashion. But look at pictures from the Batcave or the Blitz club from the early 80s, and you will find kids with every shade of white, grey, and pastel hair lonnnng before the invention of "pastel goth" ---which I also argue isn't a thing because pastel is canonical within the original goth movement, above case in point, but that's a rant for another day...
