hot take: it’s fucking ridiculous how people constantly reduce the skull to a meme when it's by far the most nuanced character. anyone actually paying attention to the film would understand that the skull cut-ins are there to communicate its complex feelings towards the situation, its grief for the other skulls, its wavering faith in scott, its righteous anger-- which, by the way, manifests in the BEST SCENE OF THE FILM when it (SPOILERS) turns to face trevor and distracts him to save the day (/SPOILERS). once it finally moves on from the past it realizes it can change the present, tying into the film's larger theme of acceptance. the skull is the REAL hero of the story and no one fucking cares because they're too busy making trevor and baldcop their UwU Yaoi Boyz
