I have been feeling happy an humbled since The Finnish National Gallery acquired my newest stop motion demolition animation to their collection. It´s overwhelming to realize that me a little kid who just likes to break stuff has been approved to the same company as the "poika ja varis" and "Taistelevat metsot" as part of the finnish culturual heritage.
I have always been following my own heart. Trying to do stuff that truly matters to me. Doing things that I enjoy and things which makes me feel uncomfortable. Being the best possible me is not an easy task for anyone but its the only (not the easiest) way to live if you want to truly know who you are.
Thank you universe from putting the atoms together in the right place just for me to pick them up and separate them again.

The main narrative of my artistic work is often searching for different kinds of items in scrap heaps, waste bins and flea markets. I'm looking to find something that inspires. I am especially interested in the most pointless inventions. I get over excited when I found some new electronic item that everyone could live without. I am hugely attracted to futility in all its forms. The futility of being, the futility of things, the futility of futility.
In advertising slogans the praise of futility is comical, even though we don't laugh anymore after the purchase. Like I said I get excited about useless things but I get even more excited about useless things that are beautiful. I have found and bought hundreds and hundreds of items and now I think I've found the most beautiful useless thing ever. Look at it. It's a pink gorgeously designed rechargeable battery powered window washer.
Soon it will be in thousands parts.
(side note. By getting excited I mean the huge internal rush that occurs when I think about breaking it into atoms. Throwing it into the street, so that the particles move away form the epicentrum like in the big bang. Ballet of destruction. Waltz of hammers. Ah.)

JopasJopas group exhibition @ La Fiaba gallery in Jyväskylä
Open 5.6.-30.6.2023.
Noin 28 taiteilijan yhteisnäyttely JOPASJOPAS täyttää La_Fiaba-gallerian kesäkuussa. Avajaisia vietetään MAANANTAINA 5.6. klo 18.00 alkaen. Näyttely sijaitsee tutussa paikassa Kauppakeskus Tawastin tiloissa, aivan Jyväskylän ytimessä. Tila on suuri ja sinne on esteetön kulku. Tammi- ja toukokuun näyttelyt ovat olleet ilmiö, ja ne ovat keränneet reippaasti kävijöitä.Kesäkuun taidenäyttelyltä on lupa odottaa värien leikkiä, totista asiaa ja keveyttä. Tarjolla on kattavasti erilaisia taidemuotoja mm. maalauksia, kuvanveistoa, lasitaidetta, piirroksia, installaatioita, valokuvataidetta, ja katutaidetta. Näyttely on avoinna ma 5.6. avajaisten jälkeen 6.6. – 30.6.23. Tarkemmat aikataulut selviää myöhemmin.Olette kaikki tervetulleita avajaisiin, ja pukukoodeille me emme kumartele – eli tule sellaisena kuin olet.
