The Queen and the Butterfly II: The Witchâs Curse - Part 4
This story is a sequel to âThe Queen and the Butterflyâ.
The story: Poppy offers Branch some cupcakes with butterflies in it which turns out to be mysterious. When the two Trolls eat them, they got transformed into butterflies themselves and realize that the cupcakes were actually cursed by an evil witch! Now they must try to find the witch who made those cupcakes and get a cure to get themselves back to normal, while encountering obstacles in the process along the way.
You already seen what had happened in Part 3. Now get ready for Part 4!:
Poppy and Branch kept fluttering away from that hungry spider. They panted as they flapped their wings and hovered up and down. Finally, they found a nearby rock and fluttered down to it, hiding behind it and plastering their wings to it as they tried to catch their breath.
Poppy and Branch panted heavily, frightened that the spider would come for them as soon as possible. They tried not to look back.
âThat was close,â Poppy said, breathing hard.
Then she and Branch began to flutter off when...
A glass jar came down underneath them! Poppy and Branch flutter around the glass in a desperate attempt to get themselves out. They even tried breaking it with their hair when the jar turned around and they tumbled to the glass circle. Then they watched in horror as a red lid closed the jar shut.
Branch and Poppy tried using their hair to get the lid off and even pushed it with their heads but it was no good. They were trapped!
Trapped like little butterflies in a jar...
It was no other less than a second when Poppy noticed a blue hand clutching to the glass. She knew what this hand belongs to.
âCooper?â she said, immediately recognizing it.
Correction. Cooper has Poppy and Branch locked up in his insect-catching jar! He took a closer look at them from inside it and cooed âOoooh! I caught two pretty little butterflies! Arenât you adorable?!â
But Branch and Poppy need to get out of the jar. Fast. So they flutter around and about in the jar, screaming at once in high-pitched voices:
âCooper! Let us out of here! Itâs us!â
âPlease open this jar this instant! Weâre Poppy and Branch! Weâre turned into butterflies!â
âHelp! Get us out of here now!â
âCooper! Cooper! Cooper! Cooper!â
âHelp! Help! Help! Help! Help! Help! Help!â
âCome on! Help! HEEEEELPP!!â
Their high-pitched cries caught Cooperâs attention. He looked down at the frightened fluttering butterflies and said âOooooh, they talk! Itâs sooo cute!â
âCooper! Help!â Poppy and Branch yelled together, still flying in circles. âLet us out!â
Cooper lifted the jar a little so he can take a closer look at them. He cooed at them âYouâre so cute! Look at your wings!â
Finally, Poppy couldnât take it much longer. She fluttered in front of Cooperâs face and shrieked at the top of her lungs:
âCooper, for the last time, itâs me, Poppy!â Â
As she said this, Cooperâs jaw dropped in utter shock. He said to Poppy âWhaaaaaat?! Poppy?! Is that you?!â
âYes, itâs me Cooper!â she protested. âOne of your Snack Pack buddies!â
âWow! Youâre so beautiful, my Queen!â he said in amazement. âWhat happened to your voice? It looks like a chipmunkâs!â He laughed as he said the last sentence.Â
Poppy scowled and yelled at him again âPlease get us out of here right NOW!!!â
âOh, okay!â Cooper answered while laughing. âSorry! I canât withstand everytrollâs jokes!â
Then after he finished laughing, he reached for the lid to free Poppy and Branch. But instead, he puts the jar down on the rock and went to a corner, sitting like a puppy.
Poppy and Branch exchanged an uneasy look. What is this strange Troll doing?!
âWhy arenât you freeing us?â Branch asked.
âI just want to see what happened to you guys! Why both of you have bodies of butterflies? Did you wear costumes like this and shrank?!â Cooper howled with laughter as he said this. Branch frowned and shook his head.
âNo, Cooper!â Poppy corrected him. âWe ate some candy butterfly cupcakes bought from an old hermit and then we suddenly transform into butterflies ourselves!â
âYeah, and it was all Poppyâs fault!â Branch added.
âBranch!â Poppy said, glaring at him. The survivalist was disrespecting everytroll again!
âSo lemme guess? You ate magical cupcakes?â Cooper asked.
âYes, definitely!â Branch said. âAnd we are under a spell and we need to get back to normal immediately! Open the jar! We canât breathe!â
âOh, okay!â Cooper said, agreeing with this. âIâm so sorry I didnât recognize you until now!â
He put a hand to the red lid on his jar and twisted it open. Poppy and Branch fluttered to the edge of it, thankful to have air and be saved by the worldâs dumbest but kind-hearted Troll-giraffe hybrid.
Poppy spoke to Cooper in her high-pitched butterfly voice âWe need your help. We need to get to Branchâs bunker safely. And he said that it was too dangerous for butterflies to fly around the forest by themselves!â
âCorrection!â Branch shot back, raising an eyebrow.
âOh, I would love to help you guys get there!â Cooper said excitedly, bounding up and down. Then he showed his green hat to Poppy and Branch and told them âClimb on my hat! Itâs the safest way for all bugs like you to travel!â
âExcuse me? Weâre not bugs!â Branch replied. âAre you sure about this? I donât think it is safe!â
âIt is safe! Trust me, Branch!â said Cooper, smirking at him. âYou two are gonna love doing this! Hahahahahahaha!â
Poppy and Branch looked at one another, feeling uncertain that Cooper would often mess up and become careless if he loses them. But they have no choice but to listen to him anyway. So they flutter to Cooperâs hat and bury themselves underneath it.
After a moment of silence, Poppy and Branch peeked from the hat, their tiny heads glancing nervously at his face.
âAwwww!â Cooper cooed. âYouâre so cute when youâre hiding like this!â
âOne hundred percent wrong,â Branch sighed.
âSo now what?â Poppy asked.
Cooper whirled around in circles and said excitedly at the top of his voice:
âNow just sit tight in my hair and fasten your seat belts! Weâre going on a high-speed skitterboard ride!â
A skitterboard ride? Poppy and Branch exchanged worried glances again. They donât think it would be really safe! They tried to warn Cooper about this but it was too late. He has just pulled out his skitterboard and began skating around the forest slope, hollering happily.
At least Poppy and Branch were hidden inside Cooperâs hat, managing to hold on. Cooper swerved his skitterboard back and forth. âYEEEEEEEE-HOOOOOOOO!!!!â he whooped, his eyes looking crazy. âTHIS IS TOTALLY RAD!!! WEâRE DOING IT, YOU GUYS!!!â
âYes, yes, fine,â Branch said. âJust keep your eyes on the road! Youâre skating like an animal!â
âWOOO-HOOOO!!â Cooper hollered as he skated around the slope as fast like a bullet.
Poppy and Branch knew this wasnât really safe. They keep trying to scream warnings to him to watch out for obstacles along the way.
âCooper, please be careful!â Poppy whispered. âYou might get us into an accident!â
âDonât worry, Poppy! I got this under control! I will be very careful-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHH!!!!â
Cooper stopped talking for a second and screamed as he was heading straight for a snail! He tried to stop his skitterboard but he couldnât! So he just rolled straight to it!
The skitterboard crashed to the shell of the little snail! Cooper tumbled and his hat with Poppy and Branch in it fell away!
âOoof!â Cooper groaned as he landed in a heap and immediately sprang his hands with glee. âIâm okay!â
Then he noticed that his hat is not in his head and said âHey, whereâs my hat?â
Meanwhile, Cooperâs green hat carrying Poppy and Branch in it fell into a part of the forest, forcing the two Troll butterflies out of it and sending them to tumble away.
Once Poppy and Branch tumble out of sight, Cooper walked to this part looking for his beloved hat.
âThat was fun! Now I had to look for my hat!â he said. âBut where is it?â
When he looked down to see his hat on the ground, he cried happily âAh, there ya are!âÂ
Then he grabbed it with his teeth and puts it back on his head. He grinned at it and said âLetâs keep going, guys!â
Cooper thought Poppy and Branch were still inside his hat but he was wrong. They werenât in his hat at all. Finally, he hopped back into his skitterboard and rolled away.
Meanwhile, in the other part of the woods, Poppy and Branch landed with a thud on the grass, groaning from the rough landing. They got up and shook themselves, straightening their little wings.
Then Branch, noticing that they were standing on grass, realized what is happening. He fluttered off the grass and saw that Cooper has already left! Dang it!
âCooper, wait! You forgot about us!â he called. âWhere are you going?!â
But there was no response. Poppy flew beside him with concern growing in her face.
âAw, man!â Branch said. âI canât believe we lost him!â
                          To Be Continued...
                        Stay tuned for Part 5!
Note: Friendly reminder that this part reminds me of the âCoop, Whereâs My Guy?â episode from TTBGO because in this part, Cooper is literally getting Poppy and Branch into trouble! LOL! đđ
