How to Prevent Ski Goggles From Fogging
How to Prevent Ski Goggles From Fogging
With mask regulations in place this season, we know that fogging is a bigger challenge than usual. That’s why we put together our top tips to prevent fog from creeping into your day.
Release that Steam
You just crushed your best line. Slashing pow, carving the corduroy. Life is good. Until you pull up to the chair lift, raise your face mask and things start to get steamy.
When you’re bundled head to toe, the only place your body has to release heat is your face. Try unzipping your jacket to allow heat to release from your body rather than your face.
If you’re super warm, go ahead and lift those goggles onto your helmet to vent the warm air away. By the time you hit the chair, you can put your goggles back in place and scope your next line.
It’s All About Proper Mask Placement
The placement of your mask on your face can make all of the difference. First, make sure your mask is covering your mouth and nose. But don’t stop there. You have to actually tuck your mask up and under your goggles. Bringing the mask up past the foam will allow much of your warm breath from your nose to channel out of your mask below the goggle and not into the frame.
Remember that protective bag that came with your goggles? Yeah, bring that.
Pops always told you to NEVER wipe the inside of your lens in fear of damaging that precious layer of anti-fog. Well, Pops has obviously never heard of Zeal. Unlike most lenses on the market, our Everclear Anti-Fog is infused into the lens. Meaning you can never wipe it away. The best way to clean moisture off the inside of your Zeal lenses is to gently wipe the surface of the lens with the interior of the protective bag provided with your goggle. Oh, and did we mention that our anti-fog also resists fogging for more than 220 seconds? That's 10x the industry standard!
Goggle Après Pro Tip
Caring for your goggles doesn't end when you leave the mountain. When you get home, don't leave your goggles in the car or stuffed in a beanie in your helmet. Put them in a dry, well ventilated location to allow all moisture to evaporate before returning them into your goggle bag . Then, store them in a dry place until your next day on the hill.

🇫🇷 If it’s a big ski area and great value for money you are after for your next ski holiday, you need to head to Les Arcs! ___________ 🎿Skiing Les Arcs’ ski area isn’t as schizophrenic as La Plagne’s next door. But it does favour two types of skier over everyone else: intermediates and balls-to-the-wall experts. ___________ 🍺Where To Apres-Ski? Here are the best bars in each village: In Arc 1600 there’s Cafe Sol and L’Abreuvoir. In Arc 1800 The Ambiente Cafe and Le J.O.. Arc 1950 has Chalet de Luigi – better than Les Belles Pintes. In Arc 2000 try El Latino Loco, which is located next to the ice rink and features a resident DJ and live music. In Peisey-Vallandry there’s Jimmy’s with a daily happy hour. By the way, both Arc 1800 and Arc 2000 are home to bowling alleys. Families will love going to Mille8 after skiing. It’s on the slopes at Arc 1800, is open in the early evening. ___________ 🏠Where to Stay? There are six ‘villages’ in Les Arcs: Arc 2000, Arc 1950, Arc 1800, Arc 1600, Peisey-Vallandry and Villaroger. Drop us a message 💬 and we will find you the best apartment for the best price! Thanks to We Love To Ski for their geat tips! #powderwhite #lesarcs @lesarcs #skitips (at Les Arcs 1800) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bn_Sipvgman/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=17cw8jgo3cgaq
