What a time to be alive, especially as a creative and as an Asian American... @crazyrichasians is charming and delightful. Thank you to the whole cast and team for bringing in a more diverse and nuanced story into the mainstream arena. I found myself laughing and crying, sometimes both at the same time. ❤️✨😎❤️ I've become proud to be a part of a community that is so diligent and active about pushing and challenging boundaries. Growing up I lived inside a bubble in my mind and while it allowed me to stay "safe," It also allowed myself to be stand seperated ... I'll go so far as to admit that being an "Asian American" was not a strong part of my identity. I never denied it, nor shied away from it, but I never proudly declared it. Following projects like "Crazy Rich Asians" I feel the full strength of their unapologetic vision and talent. At the beginning of this year, I decided to actively explore my peers and their work.
