Queen Ayesha Lochtree met Kala Madan when they were only 100 some years old. A lot by human standards, the faery was extremely young for their age. Kala was their best friend, and they’ll still call her that until this day. The two younglings founded Atherion with light in their hearts, and losing Kala, a mere human, put that light out for quite some time. They were proud of Kala’s children as they approached the throne, but Queen Lochtree would forever miss Kala’s nature. Still, they see that nature in the Madan children every so often. 

Queen Ayesha, in search of something to light up the darkness in her heart again since losing Kala, desperately wanted children of their own. Though, being a lesbian fae, they’d never accept a king. So, in spite of everything, the Queen began collecting children who’d lost their parents far too young due to illness, or hunting (not on Atherion land), or whatever circumstance brought them to be alone. Young fae should never be alone.

Above all, Atherion is their home. They will do anything to protect it, their children, and all of their people.

Calista can often be found pacing the halls if she has nothing else to do. She likes it when her nose is pressed between the pages of books. She’s the one that’s convinced she’ll change the world with words. What needs changing? She’s not exactly sure. But she’ll find it and fix it with the novel she plans to one day write.

Where her sister, Amberly, is the party princess, Calista is the wallflower princess, willing to hang off to the side and watch the action unfold instead of getting into the middle of things. Maybe that’s what comes from being the only blood related children adopted by their Mom. They’re two sides of the same coin and it shows.

She often has a hard time letting loose. People might refer to her as the uptight princess or not refer to her at all. She’s afraid she blends into the shadows too much. After all, her High Fae power is Shadow Melding.

Princess Lochtree feels like they don’t fit in in the castle. They’ve never quite felt as comfortable in the role of Royalty like the rest of their siblings do. It’s as if they just weren’t made for this life, and they don’t know what to do about it. They feel like they’re stumbling through life, looking for something to make them connect to the role they get to play.

They’re skilled in blending in. They make it a point to know what’s going on in the castle without really making their presence known. That way, they always have whatever information they need, without having to ask for it. Instead, they seek out what they need in the best way they can; lurking about.

They feel out of place and homesick in the castle, but when they get into town, they suddenly feel more at home. Like they were meant to be in the back of a bakery or within the kitchens of a pub, not the ballroom of a castle.

One of the oldest Lochtree children, They can often be found accompanying Calista in the library. Not because they want to be around the books in the same way she does, but because they like the solitude that the library brings. The place is hardly ever busy, and it’s dark, save for their sister’s lamplight. It’s a good place to kick back and take a nap before they have to get back to their duties as a Prince.

However, they do take their responsibilities seriously. They know that being a member of the Lochtree Royal Family means something honorable and so they’re well-intentioned. They tend to the people of their kingdom with ease, taking their position in stride.

They are one of the closest to Queen Lochtree, being that they were adopted first and had some of the most time to get to know their mother. They forged a special bond.

Princess Lochtree is a true romantic. They believe in true love’s kiss and love at first sight and want to live out their storybook moment. The only problem? They’ve never even been close to experiencing a true love of their own. Sure, they’ve had flings. Dated. Even been kissed a time or two. But nothing ever felt like in the fairytales, when the character just knew that it was meant to be. That’s all the Princess wants. Her own fairytale.

They’re used to dancing around at balls and sweeping through rooms and down hallways in gorgeous dresses, hoping to entice a visiting dignitary that they’re the one they were always meant to find. That in them, they’ll find a life they were always looking for, and a person they longed to meet. They’re a precocious type with a lot of heart and a lot of love to go around.

They’re the one of all their siblings that would easily give up their royal status for love if that were the choice that need be made.

A middle child of Queen Lochtree, Prince Lochtree is often praised for his work in the strategy room. He’s always offering new and inventive ways of making sure the castle stays safe, despite the fact there’s been no threat in hundreds of years.

When they’re not in the strategy room, he’s a bit of a playboy, finding someone to hookup with, and dragging them to bed. His sisters find it hilarious, the way they’ll fall into bed with just about anyone, but he can’t help it. He has needs.

They have trouble letting go of the reigns sometimes.

Amberly is the Party Princess of the Lochtree children. While their siblings are much more attuned to the Royal lifestyle, they can be found sneaking out of the castle to go frolic in town with friends. 

On the flip-side, Amberly loves to take care of animals, and always has. They have always had an affinity for caring for injured animals who need their help. It started when they were still in the orphanage and a bird with a broken wing needed help to fly again. 

They are especially caring and delightful.
