Something I may have understood
America has a bit of an attitude problem. Rather than two groups receiving the same things and both being happy, America would rather be a little more unhappy and have the other group has way less. Like the group that has more doesn’t want to be brought to the same level for some reason, even if they both benefit.
I’ll put it this way. A while ago, my mother worked for 15$ an hour, while I made minimum wage ($7.25). My parents are against a minimum wage increase (let's say to like 12 dollars) literally because it “brings minimum wage closer to my mother’s wage” even though both our family (my wage) and other people who work minimum wage benefit. Why is it so important to us that poor people suffer?
