i always buy the cheap box fans for the white noise (brown noise? one of the neutral colored noises. definitely not pink noise) to help me sleep. there are better made box fans that would probably last longer but the poorly made ones just sound better. i think it has to do with the flexibility of the thin plastic blades

i remember stories that claimed all humans get about the same number of heartbeats and how long you live really comes down to the speed of your pulse
