With six finally blessing us with a new alt design the sixsona chart needed an update. Obviously featuring Laura Baxter (who is not pewter swing but should have been) and Emilia Paige Jurin the first ever pewter swing.

Also we are getting back to this project! It got suddenly paused last year when life got chaotic for both Elisabeth and I. But we are back to this.

Hey y'all! This is the third in a series of a few extra sixsona posts that @lightleckrereins and I are doing this week. Previous posts have been showing the real-life vinyl inspirations we used in our designs + showing the makeup plots we came up with!

For part three, we're doing the crystal colors we'd use for the boots! Designing the boots was always one of my favorite parts of the sixsona dessigns - I made each embellishment pattern based on existing crystal colors. I've worked with crystal embellishment for theatrical costumes a fair bit in my life, so it's really fun to apply that irl skill to this!

As a general rule of thumb, we tried to stick to some of Six's pre-existing styles, embellishment patterns, and methods. We did only use one specific Swarovski color chart, but the UK productions and their wonderful embellisher (@/crystalledbyjane) have actually been switching some designs to Preciosa due to supply changes.

Yellow (A/B): Jonquil, Golden Topaz, Crystal Cream (A/S): Jonquil, Silk, Jet Bronze (A/C): Light Amber, Light Colorado Topaz, Jet

Mint (B/S): Peridot Shimmer, Light Turquoise, Crystal Coral (B/H): Padparadscha, Rose, Jet Emerald/peacock (B/P): Emerald Nightfall, Capri Blue Nightfall, Jet

Amber (S/C): Smoked Amber, Jet, Crystal Peach (S/H): Blush Rose, Light Peach, Crystal AB Light blue (S/P): Denim Blue, Light Sapphire, Jet

Magenta (C/H): Light Siam Shimmer, Light Rose Shimmer, Crystal AB Maroon (C/P): Crystal Volcano, Crystal Lavender (H/P): Tanzanite, Provence, Crystal

Gosh, this is the first time I tried making a Queen in the style of SIX the Musical.

It was really fun delving into this Queen's history as it's so interesting! Apparently she was given the title of King at her coronation and is known to be in love with her lady in waiting Ebba Sparre!

I tried using multiple references from the musical, specifically with Parr and Cleves' outfits, and with her portrait.

Actress: Cristina D'Agostino (Swing, Australia, 2022-2023) Played 1/6 (P) Note: PHYSICALLY how did she play 1 role in A YEAR.

Actress: Shekinah McFarlane (Alt A/C, W.E, 2019-2019) Played: 2/6 (A/C) Note: Shekinah was already contracted to play Cleves in the Uk tour. however due to 1 of the alternates departing, and their replacement not starting until October, She was asked to join the cast in London.

Actress: Zara MacIntosh (Alt A/H, W.E, 2019-2021) Played: 4/6 (A/B/C/H) Note: Zara's debut in the show, occurred 1 month earlier than planned! She Emergency covered Howard for 1 performance. To date, this is only the 2nd occurrence where an actress had debuted one of their first covers early, first being her castmate, Hannah Stewart.

Actress: Roxanne Couch (Alt S/P, W.E, 2021-2022) Played: 5/6 (A/B/S/H/P) Note: Roxanne would remain with the show after the 2022 cast change, This time appearing as principal parr!

Are Sixsonas still a thing? Anyways, this design has lived in my head rent free for so long…..
