✕ CLOSED STARTER FOR @sixmoves ✕
SUSAN LEANED HEAVY ON HER CANE as she walked inside the starbucks opposite of the building in which she had just given a group of mildly attentive employees information on fire safety and the protocol in case of fire. she disliked that this was her life now, talking to people who looked uninterested as she tried to make them see how important the information was. she had been in burning buildings, she had saved burn victims and had gotten burned herself. she knew how important it was to act correctly in these situations, but they didn’t care... or barely anyone did.
she made her way up to the counter and ordered a pumpkin spiced latte, deciding she had earned it and groaned softly as she turned to go stand at the waiting spot. she had been on her feet too long - teaching and now this. she’d pay for it later, for being too proud to sit down and teach. she was not looking forward to the cramps. she looked towards the line and noticed someone who had been in her class today and she couldn’t help but smile at her. she may not be the romantic type anymore, but pretty women could still make her smile.
