One of Nottingham's finest exports, the irrepressible Six By Seven, led by Chris Olley, are perhaps one of the most enigmatic bands of the past 20 years or so...I think it was Chris himself who once described them as being "too rock for the indie crowd, too indie for the rock crowd...", either way, they have put out some of the best albums of the past two decades,with this, their sophomore album, released in 2000 on Mantra Records, 'The Closer You Get', the sound of a band really hitting it's stride, following their superb debut 'The Things We Make'. The band has seen a number of lineup changes throughout the course of its life. Reforming with new lineups and then again with the original lineup.
