Slay the spire 2 has a lot of colored text used for flavor and emphasis and 1. it's kinda jarring? but more importantly 2. it reminds me of a certain genre of post on this website which is definitely not the feeling they were going for
the thing is there's keysmash subs and there's stammer subs. you need to know the difference and endeavor to make whichever one you've adopted perform her activity as much as possible. it's enrichment
someone has been playing loud music outside my house for two days straight and while normally I'm fairly live and let live about these things I have an intense desire to commit property damage
look I know we're not gonna get the school festival arc in whisper me a love song's 1st season
but what if I dreamed anyway

Void Stranger just shoved me in a blender and girl this ice is fine and powdery. What the hell
I feel like critics of "spoiler culture" (which I hate as a term but y'know) approach the topic from completely the wrong angle. I've seen arguments like "I enjoy things more when I know the end!" or "if it relies on a twist it's bad media!" which like, ok fine if that's how you feel whatever good for you. But like, even ignoring the point that an individual should be the decider of how they handle media, it completely misses why I hate spoilers. Rambling below the cut:
If you know me you know I'm the biggest baby about spoilers on the entire internet. If it's something I'm excited about, I'd prefer you didn't even tell me *if you liked it or not.* Obviously that's unreasonable so I'm not upset if you tell me but like. Just so we're on the same page here that's where I stand. I generally engage with media in one of two modes:
The first watch: when I sit down to see something with as little prior knowledge or bias as possible. I love this! It means I can see how the author/screenwriter/whoever intended the media to be seen and all the twists and turns that entails. I can feel the emotions and uncertainty of the characters within the story alongside them because I don't know where it's going! Certain stories just don't have the emotional catharsis if I know where they're going.
The rewatch: examining or watching something with the bias of knowing where the story goes. This is great! It means you can see little nods of foreshadowing you might have missed, or feel a certain way about a doomed character's words. My memory isn't great so often these help me fill in gaps I might have forgotten about!
Now, the crucial point I think critics of people like me miss is that yeah! The rewatch is fantastic! Sometimes it's even better than the first watch! I totally agree. But once you know the ending, know the fate of the characters in the story... You can't go back. When something's spoiled for me it becomes a rewatch automatically, even if it's the first time I'm seeing it.
And the reason that bums me out is man, what if I wanted to enjoy this thing in two different ways? Get a fully rounded experience out of it. The cats out of the bag now; you've taken the first watch from me, the revelation that this character was actually the villain the whole time! The feeling in my chest that emulates what the hero feels in that moment. I live for that.
Yeah, knowing what happens is fun. But let me do that on my own time.
who is that girl in the mirror?
her smile brightening my day
sometimes I cry when I see her
not out of sorrow but of joy
