  ARTIST OF THE WEEK - 3582

3582 is a group comprised of producer/mc's - Fat Jon (of 5Deez) and J. Rawls (of Lone Catalysts). Both of these dudes have some of the most versatile production styles in hip hop, they touch genres from jazz to r&b to blues to soul to funk as well as some spaced out electronic shit.  Anyone familiar with the above mentioned groups knows what I’m sayin’.  Fat Jon’s distinct high rpm, moody strings, syncopated drums, punctuated with a rhythmic kick drum and J.Rawls’ boom bap drums, funky horns, swinging bass lines, laced with r&b chops/loops.

 "The Living Soul" and "Situational Ethics” feel more like ep’s than full length albums due to the length of the songs and the short tracklist but the songs sound “full” by the amount of production crammed into them, so it doesn’t leave you feelin’ short changed.  Both J. Rawls/Fat Jon take turns producing/rhyming over each others tracks, blending their signature styles seamlessly.  Unfortunately these 2 projects were heavily slept on because they were released during a time where many producer/mc’s were teaming up on collaborative albums, such as JAYLIB’S “CHAMPION SOUND” and MADVILLAIN’S “MADVILLAINY”.  If you’re a fan either of 5Deez or Lone Catalysts and you missed out on these drops, do yourself a favor and check ‘em out.  You won’t be disappointed. ✌️
