Yapping about the symbolism in this drawing because I can why not lol

Of course the most obvious one, Dog is a dog and Bird is a bird cause I’m a sucker for animal symbolism

So, of course, Dog is sitting because “sitting pretty” haha get it I’m so smart /j

“Fido has plenty long as she stays in her cage.“ I used this line for a good chunk of the symbolism. 

You can see Dog in a cage, and then behind the cage is an abstract house because her house, with her family, is like her cage right now (also it has a bunch of lines in it cause it’s bad idk lines in the shapes give it more horror vibes). And for Bird we have the abstract city shaped behind Bird because they moved cities. For the abstract shapes, I took their main colors. I feel like Dog has a lot of red associated with them and Bird has a lot of green. So I went for that. 

And I tried to make the dog look like the actual Fido the dog from World War II. But the patches of color are orange instead of brown cause Dog’s hair is orange.

Bird’s Feathers are Dark Brown for their hair (I know I know their hair is supposed to be GREY but I’m sorry it’s not realistic I couldn’t help myself 😭) and Brown cause of the feather earrings and necklace they gave Dog.

You can see on her collar, it's the little shocker and earrings she wears at the wedding.

Dog has a broken halo cause she she has to go back to to catholic roots and cause of “Wine and Wheat”

This one’s a really tiny detail so it makes sense you wouldn’t catch it without me saying it but Dogs cage is  supposed to resemble the tree branches in “My Love is Sick” and the tree branches that birds are on that Bird is associated with.

Bird's shadow is cast over Dog because Bird leaving (or in the drawing as symbolism, the bird flying up to the city) is why Dog is sad.

And Yeah, the shadow is on both of their faces because they're both depressed right now we love depressed doomed yuri.

And the background behind Dog is Green because that’s the inside of her parents house and the background behind Bird is blue because of the color used in “Concept without Proof”

There’s probably more but that’s that’s all I can think of right now 

Also, sorry if this drawing is really crowded, it wasn’t supposed to be this crowded, but I’ve got too into symbolism
