I downloaded SiteSucker for the Mac and am using it to archive my Tumblr account. Seeing how many entries it's got to log, I am impressed by how much time I have managed to waste on the internet.

Well, look at that. The Tumblr Backup app stopped working for me recently, because it is officially no longer supported by Tumblr. There was no announcement, but Tumblr's tech support has confirmed it via e-mail.
There is presently no other backup solution offered by Tumblr. They have nothing like Facebook's feature that lets you download a massive archive of everything. For now, I'm going to use a web site downloading app to pull down a copy of my whole site. I have a Mac, so I'll probably use SiteSucker, but there are plenty of options for Windows too. If Tumblr doesn't want to offer a backup/download feature, that's okay. It is a free service, and way cool in pretty much every other way, so I shouldn't complain.
In any case: some of my blog isn't important to me, but some of it is, so I like to keep a backup for myself. You never know if Tumblr will crash, or I'll accidentally delete my blog, or some other flavor of stupid.
I switched my blog to tumblr.
I've been using Wordpress for my blog. It's been really good and I liked it, but I realized that I don't blog that often with it. Maybe it made me feel like I need to "compose" to blog.
Damian just introduced me to tumblr, and I really liked its casual part. Like in between Twitter and a blog and it makes me feel like I can just post anything come into my mind.So I decided to switch my blog to tumblr!
So before I switch my blog from Wordpress, I decided to save my blog locally. I used SiteSucker for MacOS and the software is great! I could save all of my blog data to my hard disk.
Then I used MarsEdit(I've been a user since ver2) to open entries from my blog, switched "blog" to tumblr, and re-posted them here. Since I didn't have many posts, it was fairly easy.
And now, I'm on tumblr. It's really comfortable here!
