Prudence moved with deadly, vicious force, metal ringing on metal as she practiced. Her leather and lace coat was laid out over a chair and so she practiced in practical boots, leather pants, and a tightfitting white shirt. A leather harness was tied tightly to her torso, crossing over her chest, to sheathe her swords.
At the moment she was wielding only one, against a statue of animated armor, moving through forms with predatory brutality, a light sheen of sweat covering her.
Sheâd practiced with blade work since she was six, knives, then swords. A way to keep herself strong, a way to exercise she didnât hate. It had a point. It had an edge. Â And it let her focus her violent desires. There was an art to it, too. And-
Spinning, as she heard something, she shouted out a word, drawing the second sword from her back and throwing it end over end in Sabrinaâs direction. The blade moved like a knife, directly towards the blonde. And there was a moment of surprise on her face, before it turned guarded, that careful laziness, and hand still extended, she flicked her wrist, and the sword shifted-
Burying itself several inches deep into the wood of the doorway beside Sabrina. âItâs dangerous, wandering the halls alone at night,â she said, dryly.
The sight of Prudence in leather with a sword in her hand shouldnât have been surprising, but it definitely was... illuminating. In a rather confusing sort of way. Sabrina just stared as she continued to fight against a suit of armor, the sword so fluid and casual in her hands.Â
And then all of a sudden, she turned toward Sabrina, throwing the sword straight at her. Her eyes widened in surprise and she tensed, throwing up her hands. The sword missed her, though, sailing past and hitting the wall behind her, sinking deep into the wood. She twisted slightly to look at it before turning wide eyes back to the other woman.Â
âWeâre at a school for magic, I didnât expect swords,â she argued.Â
Well, she was not thinking about her problems, at least.Â
