I love reading, more than anything! I read outside of school too, not just the books assigned in class. Yesterday I went to Barnes and Nobel and picked up a couple books for my reading pleasure. BEASTLY and SISTERHOOD EVERLASTING. Both really good books I must say. I finished Beastly last night and started on Sisterhood. My friend had given away a hint as to a major event that would happen. I suspected it to happen probably sometime around the middle of the book but like 3 chapters in it did. 

THAT MOMENT WHEN YOUR FAVORITE CHARACTER DROPS DEAD SUDDENLY!! 

I had been warned and yet it still came as a shock!! Also considering Tibby is a main character and my favorite of the four girls I sat there and mourned the lost like a friend. It was hard and painful, props go to the author but still!! Being a author myself I couldn't help wondering why do authors do that?! I have often thought of killing off some of my own characters yes but have never had the guts to do it myself. I wonder how the author lets go so easily and what runs through their mind as their doing it. Tibby was taken so simply and without much else. She just drowns! and then the end. It wasn't even really epic just dead and I mean it was realistic but I couldn't help thinking that Tibby deserved a more epic death like getting cancer and finally knowing what Bailey went through or something like that. 

It would be like JK Rowling killing off Harry by Voldemort just blasting a wand once with a quick word and it's OVER! HARRY IS DEAD! It wouldn't end right, fans would be disappointed and confused and think well it lasted a good while. (I am still praying for another Harry Potter book someday). Or perhaps Eragon just dropping dead from God knows what? (you can totally tell I read that book). These people deserve epic deaths!! Should they ever die which we know will never happen. But Tibby didn't, she just died. 

I don't know, I don't understand how some authors can just off a character sometimes. When I write each character becomes special like a old friend or something. You created them like a child. I always think of Sarah Dessen. She once was explaining how each character lives in the back of her mind and she consistently mentions them in her books, brings them back so you know their still there. That's how all charaters should be.
