Sirenetta's Family Dinner is my proudest work as a writer/animator so far - it just feels like the first time I'd ever been able to put exactly what was in my head onto screen. The voice actors, the artists, the musicians, EVERYONE did such a good job on this and I love this short so much. I could live in this world forever.

And now it's time for the last episode of the Sirenetta web show. This is where I think I finally became a good animator - I remember working on part of the fight scene and thinking "oh this is making more sense to me than animation ever has before" - but definitely highlights how much farther I had to go as a writer. I would change a lot about this episode now, but that's part of the fun of revisiting old work. You get to see how much you've grown and changed!

I am still so incredibly proud of this gold and blue dress I designed for Nettie in this episode. It makes no sense, but I had so much fun animating it - especially when Bell initially makes it for her.

I was so excited to figure out a sword fight between a Pirate crew and some mermaids, and then we got to play around with some very fun mermaids!

This episode a lot of fun to make because it features our only musical number this season - we were supposed to have a few more, but song & dance sequences are very hard to produce (especially for a small indie team)

Nettie meets the Mermaids of Neverland, but she's not the only one eager to face them - Pirate Queen Jacquotte Redgrave is hot on their tails too!

Season 2 of Sirenetta is where my Once Upon a Time obsession really came into play, cuz now it's The Little Mermaid hanging out with the Mermaids of Neverland! These six shorts originally premiered on Amazon Prime in 2017 through their Prime Video Direct program for indie creators, which was SUCH an exciting opportunity!

And now it's the Sirenetta season 1 FINale! I originally wanted to end her story here and move on to something else since I was really self conscious about making too much mermaid content, and uh…look at us now! 7 more shorts later with a feature on the way! 🧜‍♀️
