and that was how their mysterious eternity   worked, was it not ?     it granted everlasting beauty as they hurdled toward the sun,   fearing the light that had forsaken them in their most unnatural deaths.   his hand fell from her bloody strands to instead take her jaw,   turning it lazily so that the pad of his thumb would trace the sunken space between her hollow cheek and eye.

cursed,    cursed  heart !   why even exist at all if one must extinguish the spark of its existence ?  that which he had demanded,  clawed for,  BEGGED FOR  so that until it had been so wantonly bestowed ?  an existence of eternal night, wrought from the need for vengeance and justice upon his killers.   

still.   he supposed it would not hurt to allow her this one moment of intimacy,  hidden away in the dark of the solar with his books strewn across his lap, writing pen resting neatly between his thumb and forefinger.
