It didn’t matter if it was the fight of his life or a booth game at some stupid Valentine's Day Carnival. When Jason entered a competition, he sure as all hell competed with everything he had. Tonight was no different, and he settled himself in front of the Balloon Darts stand carving out some time to get to the know the family he had only just learned about. “Alright, Maddie you want the big one? You’re gunna get the big one.” Jason zeroed in on the large, stuffed multicolored unicorn hanging above them. He nodded at the little girl his sister and then back at Asher his brother.

“Let’s fu—“ He cut himself short in an attempt to sensor his language then corrected himself as best as Jasonly possible. There were times he could be just as big of a kid as the actual children were. “Er, let’s freakin’ go!”

Jason was already fucking around with the bow & arrow before his shift at the stupid Cupid thing officially began. He had to admit there was a certain power to it—  a thrill even as he released the arrow, and it managed to hit the target. No bullseye by any means, but commendable enough for someone whose weapon of choice had always been his fists, even over the weapon beneath this waistband. He reloaded to give it another go and drew the bow back when he heard his name called from an unwelcome voice. Of all the assholes he could have been stuck with, it had be this one, a man on the opposite side of the war and the best friend of his ex who he never liked to begin with.

Jason turned to the voice, pointed arrow and all. “Thomas," His tone low and unaffected as if he wasn’t in the perfect position to shoot him straight through. "Let's just get this shit over with."
