IM HAVING THE TIME OF 'MY LIFE' #nishajamvwaldesign #NishaJamVwal #aboutmyweekend #getaway #singley teatime. (at Olive Qutub)
LAST BATCH FINALLY MADE IT IN AND WILL SHIP OUT SHORTLY!
PERSEPOLIS by Marjane Satrapi: Analysis of Marjane
Young Marjane is like many young children these days: Innocent and ignorant.  The Islamic Revolution has made Marjane an attentive child.  She’s constantly curious about the controversy going on in Iran between social class and religion.  Marjane’s innocence also makes her very courageous.  Her young mind makes demonstrations and protests seem easy when they are very complex, simply displaying her ignorance.  When wanting to demonstrate for her parents, her motivation was, “for a revolution to succeed, the entire population must support it.”  To prevent Marjane from the demonstrations, her mom slaps her and Mehri for attending as a way to put a stop to further appearances.   Marjane finds other ways to learn by reading as a way of gaining a better understanding about what is going on in her culture.
When she wrote letters for Mehri, the maid, her motivation was out of love for a Mehril.  Mehri has always taken great care of Marjane, and she figured it was a way to say thanks. In return, Marjane learned that “their love was impossible,” due to social class.  Although Marjane’s thoughts are fantastically progressive, she isn’t in an environment where her thoughts can thrive.  Her family demonstrates against the king, but sometimes in this situation, demonstrate  hypocrisy.  They support equality, but when it comes to Mehri and her relationship, it’s unheard of.  Situations like that keep Marjane’s young mind questioning and unable to grasp her family’s beliefs.  Marjane is your average young child going through an extreme revolution, you’ve got to give her some space for innocence but also give her resources to expand her knowledge.
