Thank you for the love and I'm really glad you're interested in Simynthos!

SFS has indeed been very slow recently. I started a couple of test downloads and they are extremely slow. I've never had this problem in the past, though! I assume (and hope) the reason is so many people uploading and downloading during the holiday season. I really hope that it will be better again soon.

SFS is one of the best and safest places to download cc from, and one of the most important perks of SFS is that it will make sure the link to cc stays working, even if the creator is no longer active. Nothing worse than finding that perfect piece of cc and then learning that the link does not work and has been long dead 😉

That being said: I shared Simynthos so others could download it and enjoy playing there, too! So I uploaded Simynthos to my dropbox and added the alternative download link to the original posts for Simynthos cc-free and Simynthos with cc.

The last 6 month have been eye opening for me: The diversity and creativity of this community are so amazing! Seeing how everyone plays this game in such a different way, gives it their own unique style! I had no idea what can be done with this game!

Thank you all for sharing your game, your stories, sims, builds, screenshots, mods, etc., and being part of such a creative and inspiring community!

When I playtest a world I like to make it as entertaining as possible. I only get limited "simming-time" and I want to make every minute count! So in order to playtest the cc-free version of Simynthos I plopped down 8 sims in 8 different houses and then rotated through the households. Nraas Story Progression was allowed to create it's usual chaos in the households I wasn't actively playing.

The resulting save was so much fun, I decided to continue playing it and sharing what happens here. And so the story continues...

Part #4

It turns out Gussie got around a bit before I got around to playing her: Not only is she Cliffs ex-girlfriend, she also has a son with Avery, of all sims! Myron is a toddler and Gussies dog Rusty makes sure, he is properly potty trained in time!

Being a mean spirited, hot headed technophobe doesn't make it easy to work a normal job. That's why Gussie has decided to become self employed. Look who's brewing elixirs now:

She also rolled a wish to move in with her current boyfriend Kenton, and when she asks him, he says yes.

Simynthos cc-free is in the last testing phase. Currently I'm playing in a completely vanilla save to see if it will still run, even with wild horses and everything (for those of you who may not want to use mods 😉). The only cc I'm keeping in are the rabbit hole rugs. Due to the small lot sizes it is not possible to replace them with actual rabbit holes...

While Christiana is coming to terms with being a mother, on the other side of town, Kenton is telling his girlfriend Gussie about the horrible day he had at work.

Gussie isn't particularly easy to get along with, and she gave Kenton a good scare earlier.

But Kenton is kinda keen on her, I mean who wouldn't be? She's really pretty!

Avery has finally figured out his life, or so it seems: He got married!

No! Not to the dog! Shellie is the happy woman, or is she? Happy I mean?

Apparently she ran into Kenton on the Balcony at City Hall and what can I say?! He is beyond attracted to her! But he's in a relationship with Gussie and Shellie is newly married to Avery.

Seems like a friendship is the only thing in the cards for those two…

Sooo.... I got a bit carried away playtesting Simynthos - the cc-free version… 🙈 I just had too much fun with my test sims last time and couldn't resist finding out how their stories would continue.

I've also put some time into fixing the (minor) issues I found. The cc-free version of Simynthos will be ready by next weekend, I hope!

So how did life continue on Simynthos since last time?

(First part)

You remember Marcela, right? The one that got dumped by Avery and was hoping to find new love with her friend Cliff? Well, they went on a dinner date and it did go quite well (I'm kinda obsessed with sending my sims on dinner dates…).

They even got married and moved in together (thanks to story progression)! But it seems that Avery just had to find out whether Marcela still had a thing for him.

Look at poor Cliff! The desperation on his face! He just had to show Avery who's got the girl now!

While Avery, Marcela and Cliff were busy figuring out their relationships, their neighbor Christiana had her own kind of troubles:

She got pregnant by her boyfriend Maxwell, and suddenly it wasn't just her and her Dog Musashi anymore.

Their little boy, Marvin, is just learning to go potty.

Christiana wasn't sure whether she really wanted to be living with Maxwell. She had no wish to marry him or move in with him. So who am I to interfere?

There is one thing that has always bugged me about Simynthos: The lots in town are so close together, that the rabbit hole sounds from the movie theater or the stadium are extremely loud on the neighboring lots. I've been wishing there were a way to mute rabbit hole sounds! Thanks to this video by @declaration-of-dramas I learned:
