Permanent exhibitions: Gems and Minerals

Discover beautifully crystallized mineral specimens, stunning jewelry and gem-cut minerals, including some of the world’s most rare and beautiful examples. Examine these dazzling treasures in detail from all angles through walk-around display cases illuminated by fiber-optic lighting to provide optimum viewing.

Fish and Birds exhibition What do a bird's egg  shell and a fish have in common? Perhaps only their relationship to the collector. A cabinet of curiosities tells us more about the interests of the collector than it does of each object. The Fish of the Newcrest collections display can be viewed here.

Interactive exhibits Chart 250 years of science and technology and discover some of the most iconic items that have shaped our society. We encourage visitors to push buttons and work levers, to feel the excitement of discovery. Science is accessible!

Children activities Encourage children to follow their curiosity and work together while exploring the world around them. Explore science concepts with our activities, every Saturday. Free entrance.
