30+ Sims 4 Medieval CC: Embark On An Epic Journey

King Alaric dies suddenly of a fever, with no heir. The laws of the kingdom do not allow a woman to rule. If the newly widowed Cassandra had a son instead of a daughter, she could rule as regent, but she does not. After meeting with the royal advisor, she realizes that since no one has heard from Cassian in years, the crown will go to a distant relative. Cassandra’s best bet is to re-marry. Then, she and her daughter could stay in the castle, and she may still have some power, if her new husband is as persuadable as Alaric was.

Alas, who should show up to woo Cassandra, but Prince Malcolm of the house of Landgraab. He’s tired of waiting for his father to die, he wants to rule NOW. Cassandra thinks he is very handsome, and she could do worse. In any case, she needs to get married, so she accepts.

Gerold receives a letter from the castle!

He is summoned to the new king, Alaric, who tells him that the former king, William, has died during the night. He also tells Gerold that William has confessed to being Gerold’s father, and that Alaric would now like to invite Gerold into the royal family. He will live in the castle, he will have a title, and he will live out his days in luxury. 

Gerold considers it...

Alaric looks surprised. “You don’t want to live in the castle with us? You don’t want to be a part of our family?”

“Perhaps...” says Gerold thoughtfully. “...My Liege...”

“We are brothers! You should call me Alaric.”

“I remember you...Alaric. You and your brother. We used to play in the forest together as boys.”

Alaric smiled. “Yes! And we built a fortress out of branches and whatever we could find. And we imagined we were knights. And now you are one! How funny!”

“I did not know you were the prince.”

“I did not know you were my brother! Please, accept. Join our family.”

“I will accept. But I can not stand to live a life of luxury, as you call it. I must have something to do. I will be your personal knight, I will protect you, and the entire family.”

Alaric grinned. “As you wish.”

Cassian and Cinra have a baby daughter, Isabella. Isabella is, of course, Cassian’s biological aunt, but no one has to know that. He and Cinra are overjoyed to start their family.

Some knights come to the Meyers’ house to tell Gerold the king wishes him to be trained as a knight. 

Gerold realizes that he is being trained for more than life as a peasant, and he promises to leave his old ways - namely pickpocketing villagers - behind him.

He moves out and into the knights’ fortress, to be trained. He and the other squire, an older boy, mostly cook, clean and care for the animals, but they also learn sword fighting, horse-riding, and more.
