...and installed the HQ mod. Well, it’s not really a mod per se, at least not in the traditional fashion, but more of a customization/edit of the game. Does that make sense? It was/is a PITA to get it working. I’m still working on getting it working. I finally got my default Sims to stop looking like blank silhouettes but now I’ve got to convert all of my favorite low-res CC into HQ CC so that my Sims in my current saves don’t look like silhouettes or worse. This is going to take a while.
If you want to try and install the HQ Mod into your game, there are several “how-to’s” on the ole Simblr but here’s the one I found the most intuitive: HQ Mod for the Sims 4 by The Reds Studio. You had better have a good internet connection because you’re going to need to download a lot of large files; mainly HQ versions of all the game assets plus fixes made since the asset bundles were created. It can get a little confusing. I know I got confused and it took some trial and error before I got everything working. Sorta working.
From what little I’ve seen so far though, it looks really cool! BTW, I created all of my Custom Content @ Simularity at the highest resolution so it’s already HQ compatible. :D Now if every creator would do that, it would save me, and those like me trying out the HQ mod, a boatload of time...
I’ll keep you all posted and share screenshots when I’m able. Until then, take care out there and see you soon!
