First Snow
Manny and Vivian awake to a snowy landscape. Winter has arrived. They eat breakfast, then put on some warm clothes and go outside. Manny picks up some snow and gives Vivian a mischievous look.
Manny: Snowball fight?
Vivian: (frowning) Only if you want to get in a real fight afterward.
Manny drops the snow. It starts coming down harder, so they run back in the house.
In the afternoon, it stops snowing, and the sun comes out.
Manny: (enthusiastically) Let’s make a snowpal!
Vivian: Are you serious?
Manny: Snowball fight or snowpal...we have to do something.
Vivian: Okay, let’s make a snowpal.
It’s too sunny, and the snowpal melts faster than they can build it.
Vivian: (laughing) That’s the worst-looking snowpal I’ve ever seen!
Manny takes Vivian’s hands in his.
Manny: I love you.
Vivian: I love you, too.
Manny: I love you even though you’re terrible at making snowpals.
Vivian: What?!
Vivian picks up a snowball and lobs it at Manny.
