Instead all he did was make excuses to not be around his bf, telling him that he was already out with friends, practicing on his drums, working out, shit doing interviews that high school Katsuki would have done anything to avoid.

All so that he wasn't seen as a 'simp'.

Ha, fucking hilarious isn't it? Because as soon as the words "I want to take a break' left Izuku's lips, Katsuki was on his knees begging for him to reconsider, to have one more chance, that he would do anything to make things right. 

But Izuku just shook his head "Its okay Kacchan, I know I can be a lot...I just think we both need to think about what we both want out of this relationship going forward". 

It wasn't okay, not at all. Turns out Deku had been at his apartment waiting, all day for Katsuki to come by, or to even send him a text acknowledging that it was the couple's anniversary. 

Katsuki knew that it had been coming up, Kirishima had asked him about it the last time the Bakusquad had hung out

"What date was it again? The 8th or the 9th?" The redhead was looking through some old pictures on his phone can came across one where the couple was showing off their matching bracelets that they had gotten to celebrate one whole year of being together

The blond simply snorted and took a swing of his beer "Hell if I know, I don't keep track of that kind of shit."

His friend frowned at him and told him that was 'super unmanly'. 

"Listen shitty hair, I've got bigger things to worry about other than remembering the date of first time Deku let me stick my tongue down his throat. He knows what he's dealing with by now" Katsuki had quipped back, feeling pretty smug as Denki and Sero snickered and heckled him over the frenching comment.

Now he just felt ashamed, remembering Izuku's red rimmed eyes and mournful expression. Truth be told, Katsuki held that memory close to his heart, recalling every small detail about their first date.

How Izuku had smiled at him all night and gently used float to let Katsuki kiss him at a comfortable angle right as they arrived back to the dorms.

This all started when Monoma called him a simp for holding Izuku's bag for him on a day when his arm was aching pretty badly due to an upcoming storm.

It had left Katsuki feeling embarrassed and angry.

Angry enough that he never offered to hold anything for Izuku ever again.

Time and time again, he got called a simp for doing anything for his boyfriend, washing his dish, holding an umbrella for the both of them, walking together, going on dates, fuck even tutoring Izuku suddenly became a 'simp' move.

Eventually Katsuki stopped doing anything remotely romantic for Deku and pulled away, telling the love of his life to just 'give him some fucking space'.
