Had to make a study of this. Firstly for being on the job. It’s good to note down the stop numbers on the flash when you adjust lighting set ups. But secondly and most importantly to remember how to set up this bad boy! Sir Simon Lipman, the g of all photographers showed me how to set up this hefty bit of kit. One of his favourite lights, it looks more intimidating than it actually is. There’s a clip to dismantle the umbrella and you carefully slide the Profoto head in with the correct bulb head to project the light more ambiently, safety chain it and then voila. Give it shake to check it’s alright and you got it.
Set it up on either boom, fiddling with those handles can be a bit of pain or on a double wind up. Nothing less stable.
