Written by Simone Green alongside Jeffrey Dillard and produced by SFR and Arnell Newman, the track stands as a deeply personal yet universally empowering anthem. Released toward the close of Black History Month, the single honors Black womanhood in its truest form—resilient, radiant, tender, and real.

Rather than performing strength, Simone embodies it.

The record delivers a soulful, grounded sound shaped by lived experience and unwavering truth—positioning “Black Queen” as both a cultural reflection and a personal breakthrough for the artist.

Visuals That Reflect Real Life

Directed by Tiffany Ray and Arnell Newman, the “Black Queen” music video offers an authentic, unfiltered look into Simone’s real life.

“The video was inspired by my real life—an authentic, unapologetic glimpse into what it means to walk in my shoes as a Black woman,” Simone shares.

From leading in her career as the director of a legal staffing firm, to prioritizing discipline in the gym, to embracing love, joy, and meaningful connection—each frame tells a story of balance, purpose, and self-definition.

The result? A visual narrative that celebrates the fullness of modern Black womanhood—power, grace, strength, and celebration all in one.

The video is currently in rotation across BET Soul, BET Her, and additional BET Networks platforms—amplifying its reach and cultural impact.

The Movement Continues

“Black Queen” is just the beginning.

Simone Green is gearing up for the release of her forthcoming album, also titled Black Queen, set to drop globally on August 8, 2026—her birthday. The project is expected to further expand on the themes of identity, empowerment, and lived truth introduced in the single.

In support of the release, Simone will hit the road for her “Black Queen” promotional tour, with stops including:

Recently I had the privilege of second shooting a wedding with my good friend Simone Green. Simone and I have known each other since attending art school together, and it was great to be able to work with her in a different capacity.  Being fairly new to wedding photography, it was great to see how someone I look up to worked. Watching Simone photograph allowed me to see how she organised a wedding photo shoot, what she was after and how she manages working in wet weather conditions (which was an added bonus!). Second shooting also gave me an opportunity to shoot a wedding in a completely different way. I was able to keep back and capture things from alternate angles, cute moments between family and guests and grab some behind the scene moments.
