Elysian groves combines Argentinean birds of prey with the Greek mythology of the Golden Fleece. In Homer's Odyssey, Elysium is described as a paradise untouched by the sorrow of death.

Purlieu signifies a tract of land on the border of a forest. The composition is made up the fauna and flora of La Pampa, such as eucalyptus trees, flamencos and beautiful sunsets.

This painting was based on a photo that I took of a lake in South Argentina. I wanted to contrast the light cerulean blue of the water with bright reds and oranges.

This is a study for a larger painting. I often work through ideas with acrylic and cardboard which allows me greater flexibility and speed than oil on canvas. How Does your Garden Grow can be interpreted on many levels. For me the garden is something that needs to be nurtured on a daily basis and ultimately is an expression of love and deference.

The Calm in the Storm, Simon Boyd

Similar to Cosmos, there is a sense of disorientation where planets and different realities collide. In the middle plane there is a grassy glade to the centre right of the composition and in the foreground a deer. The deer represents nobility and calm within a tumultuous environment.
