5 similarities between Christophe Gans’ “Le Pacte des Loups” (Brotherhood of the Wolf, 2001) & Miyazaki, Hidetaka’s “Bloodborne” (PS4, 2015): 1) Both the film and video game involve highly skilled Hunters tasked with slaying Beasts, utilizing what resources and weapons they have at their disposal. 2) Costumes, building structures, certain environments, and Hunters’ getups are near identical. 3) The Beasts from both the film and game are terrifyingly grotesque as they are strangely sad, in a pitiful manner. The Beasts from “Bloodborne” were once men who’ve gone insane before gradually becoming the same beasts they’ve been hunting, whereas the Beast from “Le Pacte des Loups” was an offspring taken from his/her mother at childbirth. 4) The Bone Sword & Threaded Cane both extend beyond their original lengths, which is most effective in deceiving opponents during a duel, thus striking fatal blows. 5) The Theme of “Man vs. Beast” and the connection between said Man & Beast are very much the same, for men are capable of great evil and becoming the very same beasts they’re sent to hunt, should ever they abandon their humanities. #BloodborneAndBrotherhoodOfTheWolf #ManAndBeast #HuntersHunt #SimilaritiesFound #TheBeastFromWithin 🐺⚔️🗡
