Warnings/tags: sim!Tony, hurt no comfort, no happy ending, manipulation, torture, mindbreak
One thing about Extremis is that it hurt. It burned like it was ripping apart every muscle in his body and every nerve. The aparent wrongness of it was enough reason to fight. As if he didn't have enough reasons already. Dripping with sweat, straining against the bindings on his arms, Peter finally opened his eyes as the pain began to receed once again. There he was.
Tony. But heart retchingly giddy because despite it all, Peter wasn't sure he'd ever seen the man look so unburdened. So happy. He watched him from outside this messed up little containment device he'd built just for him, smiling like a school boy. His eyes swirled with an eye straining blue glow.
"Right on time," he said, taping his watch. "And lucky for you, this shouldn't take too much longer."
"Are you kiding?" Each word cost precious air that his lungs didn't have. He swore he could feel the lack of it even in his blood. Had he been screaming again? He'd started to block it out a few days ago. "I can do this forever," Peter huffed. There was almost a laugh. Anything to keep himself sane. To remember himself. He couldn't let Tony break him down.
"That's why I need you, Peter. You're almost as strong as I am." He gave him a wink. The old Tony would mean it as a joke, but he was pretty sure this one thought he was flirting with him. Another needle jabbed in his arm and he almost wanted to beg this time.
A warm hand caressed his face. Too warm when he was already sweaty. "It only hurts because you're resisting. You can make the pain stop any time you want. It's all on you, kid."
Peter gasped, opening his eyes. For a moment, he thought he saw him, deep brown eyes swimming with concern. Then that cold blue gaze was back. The pain hit every cell in his body all at once. Tony sighed and rolled his eyes as he walked away.
"No one ever wants what's good for them. Consider this divine intervention. I do."
It seemed worse this time, but then again, he thought that every time. Over and over again, for so long he could barely remember there ever being anything else.
Sometimes his mind wandered. He imagined someone coming to rescue him. Red and gold and a warm, familiar presence.
"Tony..." Peter gasped.
Eyes closed, he almost believed he was there. That warm hands touched his shoulders and slid reverently up to cup his neck. "I've been here the whole time, kid. Time to take your medicine."
Recently been rotting my brain with the thought of Tony coming back to life post nwh and it’s been a month and he already has this pretty young thing hanging off his arm. Like they knew coming back from the dead couldn’t have been good for his mental health especially not with the divorce and Pepper having someone else but they’re all just so disappointed with Tony going back to his old ways. And he’s completely shameless about it, they both are, Peter walks around wearing nothing but one of Tony’s shirts bruises mottling his skin, Tony will pull him into his lap while the others are around, it’s uncomfortable. Of course it’s worse than they can imagine because when Peters whimpering Mr.Stark right where they can hear has more meaning they can imagine. Anyways just shameless starker getting off to how taboo it all is and getting to flaunt it in everyone’s faces because none of them know. Actually the more taboo the better so fuck it sprinkle in a little starkercest.

Hey y'all, long time no talk, just a random idea though:
SIM!Tony giving Peter an endosym suit after giving him EXTREMIS. He adds everything Peter already had with his old suit, but leaves plenty of room for him to make his own modifications and adjustments. He pays special attention to how it will produce web fluid since Peter always makes adjustments after patrols and fights in order to make sure it can handle anything he encounters. Through the endosym Peter and Tony's team work and efficiency THRIVES, and soon it's more than clear that there's no stopping the pair, and villains & criminals learn to fear Spiderman just as much as the Superior.
Summary: When Peter nearly passes out at Tony's feet, he knows something is wrong. His little spider doesn't get sick often but the Dom is quick to take care of him. And when it turns out that it could be something else, Tony's protective instincts come out to play.

Peter knelt at the Superior’s feet, struggling to stay upright as his head throbbed and his senses flared. Everything ached and it was all he could do to bite back his whimpers as he waited for his Dom to finish his business for the day.
“Peter?”
Peter blinked, turning his face up towards his Dom. There was a look of concern on the man’s face as Peter stared, waiting for instruction.
“Did you not hear me call you?” Tony asked as he slid a hand under Peter’s chin and turned his head side to side.
“I’m sorry, sir, I didn’t,” Peter replied softly, his eyes automatically dropping with embarrassment. He had been so good lately for his Sir, and here he was ruining it now because he couldn’t focus.
“Are you feeling alright, Pet?” Tony asked, and tears welled in Peter’s eyes suddenly.
Honestly he felt miserable but he also just wanted to be good and not be a burden. His throat felt tight and nothing came out when he tried to answer, so he settled for just shaking his head.
“Oh Pet.” His Dom sighed and he must have signaled JARVIS to run a scan because he was suddenly engulfed in blue light. “What’s the damage, J?”
“High fever and physiological signs of distress indicative of a severe sinus infection coupled with a cold,” JARVIS replied. “Though given his immune system, it must be a fairly strong infection to have taken hold and overcome his enhancements.”
“Alright, have Pep take or cancel my last few meetings,” Tony said, and Peter whimpered. “Nope, none of that. You’re going to the medbay so Dr. Cho can confirm J’s diagnosis, and then straight to bed with you.”
“Yes, sir,” Peter croaked. He tried to stand but his head spun, causing him to stumble and collapse back to the floor. Or rather he would have if his Dom hadn’t caught him, sweeping him up in a bridal carry.
Peter was in and out of it as he was taken to Dr. Cho. She ran her own tests and then gave Tony orders for Peter’s care, including the custom medicines she had designed when Tony had taken Peter as his sub. He took them without complaint, then slipped back into the dazed state from before.
It had been a long time since he had been sick, and he had almost forgotten just how miserable it was. Really all he wanted was to curl up in bed and snuggle with his dom, or barring that, a nice stuffie would do the trick.
“Alright, easy there, Pet,” Tony murmured, and Peter was confused as to why his Dom sounded so gentle and almost worried. “I know this is miserable, but it’ll be ok.”
As Tony spoke, he wiped Peter’s face, and the sub realized he’d been crying. That only made him cry more as he buried his face in Tony’s chest and whimpered. This really was the worst.
-----------
Tony frowned as his sub grew more distressed. His little spider had toughed his way through injury and punishment with no problem, but getting sick was apparently a whole different situation. It was also worrying how quickly he had declined, as JARVIS saw no indication of illness even last night.
“J, check for anything suspicious with Peter’s food or anyone that interacted with him,” Tony said as he tucked Peter into their bed. He sat beside him, gently carding his hand through the sub’s hair. “It’s unusual enough for there to be a bug strong enough to overcome his system but no one else is sick. He’s been in the tower at my side without being exposed to even a sniffle.”
“Right away, sir,” JARVIS replied.
Tony hoped he was wrong, that it was just a virus that Peter was exposed to, but the more he thought about it, the more his gut told him this was on purpose.
“J, get Cho and Brucie Bear up here asap,” Tony said, his mind racing faster and faster as hundreds of scenarios ran through his head. “Tell them to bring their medical equipment.”
“Message delivered, sir, they’ll be here shortly.”
Tony forced himself to sit with Peter instead of pacing, constantly monitoring the sub’s breathing and other vitals even as he soothed him.
-------------
Peter’s fever was already climbing by the time Cho and Bruce arrived.
“Take whatever samples you would for poisons and biochemical attacks,” Tony ordered as they came in. “His fever is rising quickly and this came on way to fast to be natural.”
Cho looked like she wanted to argue but she still got to work with Bruce grabbing what they needed, as well as increasing the dose of meds Peter was already on.
“I’ll have J stream his vitals to medbay,” Tony said as they were heading out. “I have a bad feeling about this.”
“If this isn’t natural, we’ll figure it out,” Bruce promised, and Tony nodded in response. They would figure it out and Peter would be fine. And if for whatever reason he wasn’t, then Tony would rain literal hellfire down upon whoever did this.
---------------
As Cho and Bruce ran test after test, Tony grew more worried. Peter’s fever continued to climb and the sub became more and more delirious and clingy as it did.
“Please, sir, please,” Peter croaked as he curled tightly in a ball. “It hurts.”
“I know, Pet,” Tony said, running his fingers through Peter’s hair. “The doctors are working on it, I promise.”
“Sir, his temperature is reaching unsafe levels,” JARVIS said suddenly, and Tony frowned.
“What do Bruce and Cho recommend?” Tony asked, standing.
“A tepid bath or water misters with fans are the most viable options since he is no longer responding to medication,” JARVIS replied. “Dr. Banner suggests the tepid bath first given how quickly he has deteriorated. He also asked me to inform you that you were right, sir. There is a very odd strain of something currently attacking Mr. Parker’s immune system, and it doesn’t look natural.”
“Any luck on finding how he was exposed?” Tony asked as he stripped Peter of his remaining clothes. “Also start the water, J.”
“I have not yet found the time of infection and have expanded my search to the day before yesterday to see if perhaps it simply had a longer incubation period,” JARVIS replied. “And the bath is already ready, sir.”
“Very well, let me know when you find anything,” Tony said, stripping his own clothes off as well. “Have Cho and Bruce alert me the minute they have anything as well.”
“As you wish, sir.”
With that, Tony picked Peter up and started heading for the bath. This was likely going to be unpleasant for the little spider, and Tony wasn’t looking forward to it either.
Peter wasn’t aware of much beyond the heat and pain until something cold shocked his system. He tried to fight and get away but strong bands held him firm while a deep voice rumbled in his ear. The pain and fugue was too consuming to understand what the voice was saying, but still it made him feel safe and he relaxed into it as much as he could.
Slowly the pain faded, replaced by a bone deep fatigue. Someone kept talking to him, a low murmur but he couldn’t understand anything, and he couldn’t get his eyes to open either.
Pain spiked and leveled then spiked again before finally unconsciousness overtook him.
--------
Tony didn’t panic, not since he became Superior and all of his body’s functions were regulated. However, even he would admit he felt something akin to it when Peter collapsed in his arms in the tub.
“J, call Bruce now and get me another scan,” Tony barked out, his hands automatically supporting his sub. “Is it safe to take him out of the tub?”
Light engulfed them as JARVIS scanned Peter, reading out the biometrics.
“His temperature is still too high, sir,” J concluded. “Dr. Banner recommends remaining in the tub until he arrives.”
The minutes ticked by and Tony felt the frustration build at his helplessness.
“Anything yet on determining how this happened?” Tony asked sharply. JARVIS was too used to his moods to take offense though.
“I believe I may have found something, sir, but I am backtracking the movements of the individuals in question first to confirm,” JARVIS replied, and Tony grinned sharply at the unimpressed tone. J had taken a liking to Peter early on, if only because of how much stress he helped Tony work out. Thus the AI had made it his side objective to keep Peter healthy and happy in order to keep Tony satisfied as well.
“Show me,” Tony demanded as Bruce finally arrived.
The doctor took one look at Peter before grabbing a towel.
“We need to get him to Medbay, now,” Bruce said and Tony nodded. He handed Peter over reluctantly, reminding himself that there was no one better when it came to the squishy sciences and medicine.
“I’ll meet you down there,” Tony said as he grabbed his own towel to get dried. Bruce nodded and then was out the door leaving Tony to return to his task of determining who did this and how. “Bring the logs up, J, let me see who did this to my Pet.”
“Queued and ready for you, sir,” JARVIS replied, a series of screens popping up in front of him. Tony sneered when he realized who it was, already sending out the Legion to capture those who dared to touch what was his. He’d let them stew while Peter fought whatever it was, and then, when he knew the full cost of their transgressions, he take his payment from them.
-------------
Peter woke to dimmed lights, the hum of equipment, and just a faint hint of disinfectant. His mind had no problem placing the room, as he had spent a fair bit of time here when Tony had first found him. It had been a learning experience for everyone when the bright lights, loud noises, and overly strong smells kept sending him into sensory overloads. Finally though, someone had caught on and they had created a safe haven for him to recover. Tony had saved him then, and continued to save him after, helping him heal from torture at the hands of villains that didn’t care if Spider-Man was an 18 year old orphan who just wanted to help people.
Tony had already used extremis on himself when Peter had met him, but he hadn’t had full control of the city yet. He claimed it soon after, ruling the underground with an iron fist. Peter continued as Spider-man, but it felt weird when the criminals started running away without even trying to fight.
It took him getting shot to realize what was going on. Or rather, him getting shot and the bad guy’s friend yelling at them that he was insane because Spider-Man was under Iron-Man’s protection. Peter had collapsed, only to wake up in the medbay again, the room set up for him as if he had never left.
He had wanted to be mad, to yell at Tony for taking over and controlling everything, including his work as Spider-Man. But when he woke up and found the older man standing vigil at his bedside looking disheveled, Peter found that he couldn’t stay angry. Tony had lost so much and had so little that he actually cared about, so Peter understood being protective of his precious people, even if he didn’t agree with his methods.
It had been so easy to let Tony explain away his decisions in the beginning. Peter had always looked up to the man, and he’d also believed that authority figures were trustworthy. Finally though, Peter was forced to confront the truth. Tony wasn’t a good person anymore, and Peter was so in love, so happy kneeling at his feet, that he didn’t care.
There had been an adjustment period, and Peter had been reckless a few times, which was why Tony always kept this room ready for him. Plus, it was kitted out with everything Tony would need to stay with him if something happened. Like the comfortable chair his lover was currently dozing on.
“J, what happened?” Peter asked quietly, trying not to wake Tony.
“You were poisoned with a compound specifically meant to target your immune system,” JARVIS replied, equally soft. “The compound has been neutralized and your natural healing abilities have already begun repairing any damage. Sir has also already captured the ones responsible.”
“I’m not normally the one they go after with poison,” Peter couldn’t help but muse.
“Indeed,” JARVIS agreed. Then the AI seemed to hesitate before continuing. “Based on what data I can find, they seem to have taken issue with the disappearance of Spider-Man.”
“I haven’t been Spider-Man in years though,” Peter said with a frown. “Why come after me now?”
“Because they found a new Spider-Man and didn’t want to compete with you.”
Peter flinched at the cold anger in Tony’s voice. It always meant death and blood for those who had stirred his ire.
Then the words actually sunk in and he turned to Tony, incredulous.
“How could they possibly have a new Spider-Man? I killed the spider that bit me,” Peter said, confused.
“Apparently, Oscorp still had some spiders sitting around,” Tony retorted and Peter frowned.
“That’s not good,” Peter said, biting at his lip. His transformation hadn’t been pleasant and he’d survived it by pure luck. It definitely wasn’t something that people should be trying to replicate.
“Honestly, I thought I had shut them down fully, but apparently not. I’ll take care of it though,” Tony assured him, and Peter relaxed back against the bed with a sigh. “And in the meantime, you shall be on bedrest. That poison was unfortunately close to something truly deadly. Capishe?”
“Yes, sir,” Peter replied, tilting his head up for a kiss. Tony walked over and placed one gently on his lips.
“Bruce and Cho are on their way now. They’ll check you over for me. I have a punishment to dole out in the meantime,” Tony murmured to him. “Be a good boy and rest, my love. I’ll come back for you and take you home tonight if Cho approves.”
“You promise?” Peter asked in a quiet voice. He hated seeming too needy or weak, but when he got sick it was always so hard not to want his Dom around.
“I promise, pet,” Tony said, petting his head. “I’ll be back before you know it.”
“Ok, be safe then,” Peter murmured back. Tony drew him in for one last kiss, then strode out of Peter’s room.
The sub sighed and resigned himself to waiting while the Dom did what he felt was necessary. Cho and Bruce didn’t leave him alone long before bustling in to run test after test. Exhaustion crept in and he found himself falling asleep again.
He wasn’t sure how much later it was when something jostled him. His eyes fluttered open just long enough to see Tony above him before he let them drop closed again.
“That’s right, pet, just rest,” his Dom murmured, and Peter tried to bury his face against the older man. The sharp scent of iron clung to Tony, and Peter whined sleepily only to be shushed. “Just put up with it for a little, pet.”
Peter huffed but drifted back off as he was carried gently out of the medbay and back up to their rooms. Tony handled him with the utmost care that warmed Peter’s heart. He was nearly back asleep when Tony placed him carefully on their bed. The older man ran his hands through Peter’s hair but didn’t join him on the bed itself.
“T’ny?”
“Rest, pet,” Tony said firmly. “I’ll join you soon enough. Just need to clean up first.”
Peter made a curious noise and Tony chuckled.
“Let’s just say I may have gotten a little messy while making an example of them, but I’m pretty confident that no one will be dumb enough to try that again,” Tony said. “My little spider is off limits.”
Peter knew he shouldn’t encourage Tony’s more violent streak, but at the same time he couldn’t help but love knowing that Tony treasured him so much. Even if it meant that sometimes he’d kill in Peter’s name. If Peter was honest, he’d kill for Tony too.
