“Come on, Kitty Cat. You can do it! I believe in you! Just — come on — fetch!”
The cat simply stared back at him in what looked like a mixture of disdain and confusion.
Teddy sighed and flopped backwards on Silver’s bed, resigned after the spending the past hour attempting to teach Kitty Cat how to fetch. He had used a combination of treats, whining, and showing Youtube videos to no avail.
He thought it was likely that the cat was protesting against his break-in of Silver’s room when the owner wasn’t home, though he had explained to the animal that it wasn’t technically a break-in. Silver simply didn’t know he was there. But he’d been invited inside fair and square, his friend’s roommate opening the door with a scowl, not caring to listen to the explanation he’d taken time to concoct before she simply muttered, ‘Whatever,’ and gestured for him to enter before disappearing again into what he guessed was her room. He wasn’t sure if he should be concerned about the radioactive activity warning sign that hung from her door.
Teddy set Kitty Cat on his stomach, where the cat purred softly, seeming to enjoy his failure.
