#silver stake

The werewolf community was shaken by the news that one of its leading advocates, Prof. Fanghorn, was killed with a silver stake late last night.  According to witnesses, he was attempting to transfer a silver-plated cage to a new suffer of lycanthropy.  The cage is intended to ensure that the infected do not accidentally kill or spread their curse under a full moon.   

“What so-called werewolf hunters don’t realize is that these attacks actually make the public less safe,” said the deceased’s widow Luna Fanghorn.  “When suffers of lycanthropy believe they will be hunted even if they take the necessary safety measures, they may choose to hide their condition.  Werewolves that do not seek help are much more likely to kill someone than those that do.  Killing werewolves like my husband in the end won’t make the community safe.  It will only build suspicion within our community.”
